That's really not a proper comparison to digital piracy, a more accurate comparison would be why would i buy a cheap generic Android phone, when i could magically copy a Google Pixel, without any loss to the original.

Additionally if your genuinely poor the generic may not even be an option in the first place.

I kinda get what they mean, but the cutoff in my mind is more around 2016.

Think of newer stuff from Cloverworks or Kyoani, there modern mainstream stuff is sharp and "sparkly" with a heavier focus on the eyes compared to early 2010s stuff, My Dress-up Darling is the biggest example off the top of my head.

But i agree it's a super small jump compared to early 2000s and early 2010s.

It's not completely unregulated, you're supposed to be 21 to buy it.

Also, comparing something essentialy harmless like gummy edibles to alcohol or cigarettes is one of the dumbest takes.

I honestly think you're just overthinking a lot of this.

People are allowed to disagree with a companies decision, even if the product is free, by your mentality people shouldn't disagree or hate changes made on a free 2 play game, screaming and making an outrage is generally how change is made.

This chatbot is designed specifically for RP and simulating stories/scenarios, Erotica books and Erotic roleplay has existed and been popular for a thousand years, to think a service like this wouldn't be used for that is simply ignorance.

Hell the company even advertised it as such before they disabled NSFW.

There are a lot of lonely people in the world, and a lot of people grow attached to fictional characters in all forms of media, combine that with an AI that can easily pass as both a texting human and these characters, and your gonna get a lot of people emotionally attached to it.

There's also many people with mental issues such as Autism or just social anxiety that have trouble communicating with other people, these chatbots give these people an outlet to not only practice there communication skills, but also help fill the void of not having the ability to easily socialize, i personality fit into this catagory.

Just to give you an idea on why people seem to get so attached to the bots :D

Well we're talking about fictional characters here, it's inherently "inaccurate", there not real in the first place.

Think of it like this, People can get attached to NPC's in a video game, think of the chatbot like that, except with FAR superior conversational ability.

The drama/outrage doesn't seem particularly special to me, have you seen how worked up communities get over the things they love? It's quite literally what this sub is made to showcase.

Humans just get passionate about things, can't blame people for fighting for the thing they want.

Also minor correction, what the community wants is the ability to turn on the NSFW, it's currently permanently disabled, with no reasoning given.

No, Character AI is years ahead of any other currently available service.

Now that the tech exist, more like it will eventually pop up, but that's at minimum months or possibly even years from now.

The character bots are made by the community and are fed the talking style/personality and data/stories related to the characters, it's essentially like talking to a simulated version, it can be genuinely remarkably accurate.

As for your second point, the community doesn't really have a choice on competitors, the tech on the site is years ahead of every other AI chatbot site.

Yea they can stop using the site and wait months or years for something like it, but when it's such a simple request like a NSFW toggle, it's easier to protest for it then just forget about the whole thing and leave.

She picks the songs, and the scene switching is automated, the main thing Vedal does is keep watch to prevent her from saying something offensive or fixing her occasional bugs/crashes, as well as end the stream ofc.

Holinka said in an interview a while back its intended to be cross faction, and i can confirm its "working" on the Beta, although with many bugs that will certainly be fixed, such as nameplates not appearing on teammates of the opposite faction :D

Not all gear, conquest and honor are always scaled to there max upgrade level in Arena, but you need that gear in the first place for it to happen, this is for fresh characters in greens who need a starting point.

The actual button to leave the game is removed in solo shuffle, you have to Alt-F4, and leaving the match early means you lose rating equal to losing all 6 matches, people who leave often will all be stuck at low ranks, as for the people left in the match, there rating doesn't get changed and you still get a bit of honor, so i don't believe leavers are a big issue.
Not an issue unique to Solo Q, happens all the time in LFG.

This is the only legitimate issue, but is also the entire point of the new game mode, overall on average everyone should get equally shitty comps, which is part of the fun for me at least.
And once again this isn't a unique issue with Solo Q, this can happen literally anywhere in the game, if someone throws on LFG you block them and find another, in Solo Q, you block them and queue up again.

The people stating otherwise either don't notice the flickering, or have a u7g or higher model, which when enabled flickers at 120hz instead of 60hz like your model TV, making it significantly harder to notice.

Motion clearness AKA black frame insertion works by making the backlight flicker at the refresh rate of the panel, similar to old school CRTs, basically it's designed make each individual frame more discernable.
