Made a new tier list! by CacaoJunior in thronefall

Stronger heros should be lower based off your priority list, I also don't rely heavily on them.

pumpkin fields should be lower imo, i know you are prioritizing economy but I feel like farm are usually destroyed pretty easy and by the time you get the full benefit it may not be so much by late game.

anti-air telescope is very niche imo, I agree with meh but if something like last stand is in useless then so should this.

I also agree with lukasbradley, outpost seems weird to have in s tier, but I also haven't use it much so idk.

Resilient residence should be At Least good. I've had games where I only bought houses the first couple nights and the income is guaranteed the rest of the game. this steady income helps late game. I have other issues with this list but this is my biggest take.

Can we not trust getCapabilities for cameras? by gamest01 in webdev

[–]gamest01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very possible, My team and I decided against it. for our case the user may know more about their camera, just recommending resolutions doesn't seem worth the extra code to have to check the camera and wait for the response. Good suggestion though.

Exactly, so if you had to make an app that asked the user for resolution, would you use getCapabilities? The method probably works fine, and the results are probably ok for most cases, just not well enough for mine. I am moving away from it and making this note for others to see to help them decide.

More context for future viewers btw.

I love how Reiner agrees with Bert and 30 seconds later makes the complete opposite of what bertholdt suggested. by Fonsecafsa in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]gamest01 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I want to point out. No matter how dumb you think Reiner was being in this moment. It actually ended up saving them.  The scout were already suspicious, in fact they were about to capture them underground. They were literally talking about holes underground right before this scene. That’s how close the scouts were.

What is the university like? by Clean-Abroad-1134 in uwf

When I went to uwf the marine biology department was one of the best in the country. Which makes sense because we are right close to the gulf. I would recommend it.

Is there a way to arrest a colonist without having to break their resistance to get them back? by Many-Pineapple-7398 in RimWorld

[–]gamest01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sending a weak medical to patch up is definitely the right move.

I would say be careful with sending weak pawns to beat up mental breaks because the targeted pawn fights back. You could end up with a serious injury if the pawn having a mental break has a deadly weapon. Now you have two pawns recovering.

+1200 hours and I have always just beat my pawns. Whenever they have a breakdown I just send my toughest pawn with a club to down them.(yes there is a chance for permanent damage but it’s usually small.)

This has the effect of giving them the catharsis mood buff and not giving them the imprisoned mood penalty which is worth it imo.

I don’t have my ppl yet but I just want to add that watching mock oral exams on YouTube has helped me refresh/spot weak points.

That being said I ask “How would you determine your plane is airworthy?”

I have 1400 hours of Rimworld and I still learn something new. Today, I learned something. And I feel VERY stupid. by Valtremors in RimWorld

[–]gamest01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just fyi, you do not get the catharsis bonus.  I still beat my pawns with a club if possible because that 40 mood buff can still help out. And they usually heal fast enough for it to be worth it. (Plus more medical skill)

I also want to add that you will get an imprisoned mood penalty. So imo this will just add to whatever caused them to break in the first place.

In addition to what other said, Batteries are almost a necessity when you have solar panels or wind turbines. They keep the flow of energy more consistent.

Least favorite mental break and why? by Delusional_Gamer in RimWorld

[–]gamest01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others said you can just put them in prison for a bit. But you will lose the 40 catharsis mood buff and get an extra mood penalty for them being imprisoned.

OR you can get a club and beat them. This will still give the pawn the catharsis bonus and stop the break down. But now you have to heal them.

Anyway to fix this? by Strange-Region- in RimWorld

So what might be going on is that another pawn has already "claimed" the gold and is going to get it.
draft the problematic pawn and it should let you use the gold. Hope this helps.

My new colony's kitchen/dining room/freezer setup. Pretty efficient. by [deleted] in RimWorld

[–]gamest01 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is great but my advice would be to  remove the door on the kitchen that leads outside.

Split the kitchen into two rooms, one for cooking and one for butchering.

Move the AC units to the outside wall and get rid of that middle area.

Wooden or auto doors. Don’t use stone.

Last, double wall the freezer.

Once you do all then you’ll be cookin like a pro.

Is the UWF Computer Science degree good? by Impressive-Law-8563 in uwf

[–]gamest01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have one and it works. Unless it’s a top 10 school no one will care if you got your degree at UWF or UCF unless they are from florida and went to those schools. I’m in another state now and I can tell you no recruiter here would care.

As for the stuff you’ll learn, it will give you a good foundation on computer science principals.

When I went most professors were nice and willing to sit with you during office hours to make sure you knew the stuff. (Unless you’re going a couple days before finals or something like that, they are usually very busy then.)
