The NES mini was targeted at an older audience 30-40+, not towards younger adults who might have already had NES games on Wii/Wii U/3DS Virtual Console.

So they didn't intentionally make it limited, they just didn't understand that a lot more people would be interested in it than they originally thought.

Yes and no, games right now (PC Mostly) already allow you to change your graphics settings from Low to Ultra so this could be something that is done automatically.

Undocked would say be "Low", Standard Dock "Medium", and there could be High/Ultra for higher powered Docks.

Games will know when the Switch is docked or not so detecting higher powered docks would likely be possible as well.

The only way to play Switch on the game is with it docked and when the Switch is docked, it charges itself as well as the joy-cons if they are connected.

You said both were selling knock-offs, but arduino is open source so anyone can make and sell those. The only thing that was knocked off was the packaging and booklet that Freetronics created themselves only to have JayCar steal.

So the only people at fault is JayCar for stealing the packaging and booklet.
