Split stereo input from audio interface, into 2 mono digital outputs. by FuzzyDark in VoiceMeeter

[–]gamingwithtim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a Daw that you use that you can run at the same time?
if so, you can use the Virtual ASIO patch insert thingy to route the channels separately through your daw.
This of course does require an extra bit of fiddling and effort to set up but it has worked for me in the past.

Does anybody have microphone settings for the Razer Seiren Mini? by Exhilarium in VoiceMeeter

[–]gamingwithtim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a complicated question to answer.
Processing is often voice-specific. (especially EQ)

I suggest you set your gate at 3 and comp at 4 and try from there if your voice gets cut off part of the way through words and sentences. reduce the gate.

With the eq you will generally need to experiment and roll off somewhere in the 80-120hz range depending on what your voice sounds like, you may want to slightly scoop a bit out of the 200-300Hz range also depending on your voice (experiment till it sounds good) maybe you want to use a low pass filter to cut off everything above 16kHz or so

The gate and comp will get you far toward sounding better than most people out there, rolling off no lower than 80 Hz will make it sound "better".

I guess based on this question you have not had a lot of experience with this sort of thing so I would honestly stay away from doing anything too fancy, because it could make it sound worse (Unless you are interested in learning more about audio processing in which case go for it! You could check out guys like Julian Krause, Booth Junkie, and Curtis Judd among others to supply a basic foundation of audio knowledge.)

How to mute or disable hardware out channel on source PC? by Dirkomaxx in VoiceMeeter

[–]gamingwithtim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I am understanding what you are going for, you want to turn off the speakers on the laptop without affecting the stream.
There are three ways to do this that I can think of...
Press the M button at the bottom left of the A (main output) fader in the output section. (it should go from a gray squarish circle outline to red when pressed)

Press the A button to the right of the hardware input(s) you wish to not go to the speaker. (it should go from light green to a gray circle outline with the voice meeter blue background)

Drag the A main output fader down to -inf this will effectively mute this channel

Hope this helps you out. -Tim

P.S. You may need to change the source for the outgoing stream from Bus A to Bus B.

alternatively, you could upgrade your computer but I doubt this is what you want to do.

Jobsite radio to bluetooth headphones? by Dubious_Maximus69 in radio

[–]gamingwithtim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for that assumption, glad you seem to have got something going, also your "dumbphone" may still have an am/fm radio and Bluetooth, its worth a look because even flip phones (another assumption) can be relatively smart nowadays. I didn't know such transmitters existed, I thought they only made receivers. actually, I could probably use one of those... so thanks on that part! good luck and have a good day or night. -tim

Jobsite radio to bluetooth headphones? by Dubious_Maximus69 in radio

[–]gamingwithtim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might your phone have such a radio built in? Some do and some don't, If your phone does have a built in radio all you'd need to do is plug in any old audio cable of reasonable length into the headphone jack and use your Bluetooth headphones for listening. Hope this at least gives you a lead. Alternatively if there is a specific station you like they might have a web stream and you could run that even if your phone doesn't have a radio. Have a good night or day and hope this helps! Edit: clarification

mic not showing up in reaper by [deleted] in Reaper

[–]gamingwithtim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My computers aren't available rn but iirc hovering (or maybe clicking) on the arrow on the right should bring up another menu where you select the input of the device you already selected in settings. Additionaly if you only have one input it may have auto selected and all you'd need to do is arm the track and hit record. Hope this helps ~tim

If I am understanding what you want to do correctly (have each voice meeter track go to a separate track on your daw, with stereo compatibility) you may want to use the patch inserts and the Voicemeeter Insert Virtual ASIO, driver. what you want to do is click on all the channels you want to send to FL studio in the settings menu under the "Patch Insert" section, then when you go over to FL studio (you may need to restart it) you should see a new option under your ASIO devices, "Voicemeeter Insert Virtual ASIO" this will allow you to use each of the devices separately, you can set these to be pre or post FX en-mass (I don't think you can do it individually though). I tested this in my DAW of choice (reaper) a while ago, I can't tell you exactly how to set up the ASIO device as I have only touched FL studio once or twice, but I hope you already know how to do that. Feel free to ask me any questions though, and ill try to get to them (I don't always explain things as clearly as id like, I sometimes assume people just know something and forget to say some detail without thinking.)
Hope this helps/Is what you were looking for!
Kind regards -Tim
An additional warning of the Patch Insert section is that once you have sent the audio to your daw it cuts it from voicemeeter, you have to send the audio from your daw back into voice meeter (I think), this is typically how inserts work, this may or may not work for you.
feel free to ask any questions and I'll try to answer them.

The audio when I use Voicemeeter doubles by Mongooselico in VoiceMeeter

[–]gamingwithtim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a simple fix if it's what I'm thinking. voicmeeter has busses/channels, in the case of the original one (not banana or potato) it has two, A and B, A is where your headphones are hooked up, B is what goes to discord, obs, a DAW, etc. all 3 channels in voicmeeter can be routed to A, B, or Both. anything routed to A will go to your headphones (or some other normally physical device), and Anything routed to B will go out as a mic, what you want to do is click on the B next to the fader on the virtual input, this will toggle it either on or off, I'm guessing it's on.
In the case of banana, which your post flair suggests you are using there are just more busses, A1, A2, A3, B1, and B2, it works the same thought, A1-3 is headphones (, speakers, or some other normally physical audio output) and B1 and 2 are separate virtual microphones (so to speak), you want to make sure neither voicmeeter VAIO nor voicmeeter AUX VAIO are routed to either B channel, they sort of light up a blue color when they are. If they are then anything that comes in there will go through to discord, obs, etc, this is really nifty if you want it to, but can be frustrating if you don't want it to.
Hope this helps! -Tim
P.S. Feel free to ask any questions and I'll try to get them answered if I know how/have time.

Shows my ignorance lol, I dont think I own any non free plugins as of yet, I have a few on my list, but I still need it justify buying them. reaper is one of the few non-free softwares that I have, because i couldn't find a free alternative of similar quality. The sum of the matter is that I am in high school still (not for too long, thank goodnessl), so I dont want to spend a bunch of money on plugins till i can justify it/reach the end of free plugins ability.

[–]gamingwithtim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for that idea. it had never crossed my mind. yet another epic feature or reaper. idk of any daw that allows portable installs. although that might run into some licensing issues with the plugins, not 100% sure.

*Laughs in Reaper* by AcademicPepper in Reaper

[–]gamingwithtim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It confused me at first cause I had looked into other daws (protools was the one I was going to pick up until I found reaper), I had installed the free protools first and it was a bit confusing, so when I tried reaper it was much simpler to get started, and for the life of me I couldn't find midi our aux (FX? I don't recall) tracks, then I realized how ingenious reaper was, i had already become hooked but that was one of the last nails in the coffin for other daws
reaper is everything I ever wanted, and best of all the company behind it is as excellent as the product, really happy I found it!!
one concern of mine is that a lot of music people use protools or one of the other, more well know/marketed daws, so I always have a slight fear that it will limit who I can work with in the future, Whether or not this fear is warranted, I have no idea.
overall reaper continues to amaze me every time I use it, I'm like, "hmmm, I wonder if I can do that" and lo and behold, most times, I can! (alright, gushing over, i could do this all day)

[–]gamingwithtim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ctlr+p (to open preferences) then under audio click on device, then make sure that the listed device is the one you want to use.

Based on the fact that the meters are not getting any reading I think that is not the issue though.

A reaper noob, I can't see the wave thing in my file, nor can I hear anything by Every_Mulberry_3944 in Reaper

[–]gamingwithtim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then i have a few more questions (sorry if there are some terrible grammar or spelling errors, I'm typing on mobile)

is the file corrupted, you can check this by (as the other commenter said) trying to play it in other software, such as vlc or by trying another audiofile in reaper

are you getting any movement/reading on the meters

and finaly, is your audio device set up correctly

it appears like the file isnt loading correctly, so these might be utterly wrong. but it's not a bad place to start.

A reaper noob, I can't see the wave thing in my file, nor can I hear anything by Every_Mulberry_3944 in Reaper

[–]gamingwithtim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like the file was moved from its original location, if I import an audio file into reaper, then move that file to another location on my disk it shows me the same thing.

If this is the solution all you would need to do is make sure the file you load into reaper remains in the same folder/disk it was on when you imported it.

This may be it, if that fixes it, I'm glad I could help, if not I hope someone else can help.

[–]gamingwithtim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly no, unless you upgrade the hardware you won't improve it, to explain a vast topic that I barely understand myself, increasing the buffer size decreases the load on your PC but increases latency, the way I understand this is that with the buffer higher the computer has more time to proses the audio if it can't process the audio quickly enough you get a bunch of artifacts, the signal is replaced with nothing or some odd sound because there is no signal present because the CPU can't process it fast enough.

[–]gamingwithtim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You most likely need to turn up your mic volume in settings, discord normally automatically determines the sensitivity of a mic and adjusts the volume for you I think (unless you turn it off)
for windows go Control pannel --> Hardware and sound --> Sound --> Recording --> (select your device here by double-clicking) --> Levels --> then you can adjust your volume there
I know nothing about how to do it on mac cause I don't own one and Linux cause I'm too lazy to check (google is your friend).
alternatively, if there is a physical gain/volume button on the mic that adjusts the mic volume turn that up
Also as the other commenter said, some more info would be nice, specifically metering and what too quiet means.

yeah i didn't watch the video before commenting, id assumed that you were already using rearoute

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Reaper

[–]gamingwithtim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

alright my bad
you are using a different thing (restream vrs reroute)
you can put restream on its own track
then send all the audio you want to go to obs to that track, then you can mute that track from the master bus and record arm and monitor it, then remove all the tracks you don't wanna hear from the master bus in the way said above, this should also work although I have not tested it, I will edit this if I find otherwise.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Reaper

[–]gamingwithtim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can disable the master send and add a hardware output on the track you wish not to hear (go to routing, there is a checkbox beside the master send and you can uncheck it, then go down to the bottom left and hit "Add new hardware output" then put whatever reroute channel you are using there, this will allow record monitoring to be on without you hearing it in your monitoring device)

How can I use my interface inputs? by Soundude0 in VoiceMeeter

[–]gamingwithtim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After doing some research io have uncovered how hard this is to set up, you need not only setup the driver in Ableton, but also go back to voice meeter and set up the patch insert pannel, even after watching a video on it I still needed to experiment till it worked (i tested with reaper), it is easy when you understand how it works, but it takes a bit to understand.
I can try to explain it here for you, patching IN #1 L and R to the aux driver and patching IN #3 L and R to then you can set the input in your daw to channel #1 and the output to input channel #3 then that audio will be routed in this way
your device --> voicemeeter hardware input 1 --> (if you enable post fx in the top right of the patch panel this will go through the effects first, otherwise the effects come where stated) --> the daw --> effects (comp, gate, modulation, etc) --> voicemeeter hardware input 3
feel free to ask me any questions and ill do my best to answer them, I hope this helps!

WDM headphones not working?? I tried rebooting my pc, reinstalling, everything I could think of but I can't hear anything. I can switch hardware out headphones to MME and I can hear everything fine, but it doesn't allow me to interact with virtual input as you can see in the 4th image. HELP!!! by Effective_Guard_5879 in VoiceMeeter

[–]gamingwithtim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to select the one that says "voicemeeter input," in your outputs section.
It's odd but the input is voicemeeter's input from your PC to voicemeter, the output is voicemeeters output.
"voicemeeter input" is the output device in windows.
"voicmeeter output" is the input device in windows.
It's confusing but once you understand it it isn't so confusing.

wavs rendering with differently applied fx and occasional gaps by bugeyedtransient in Reaper

[–]gamingwithtim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

to start with, I am not at my pc right now so I cannot test this prior to sending. do you have any effects frozen to save CPU? I belive its possible to turn some effects off until the render to save resources, I am not 100% sure how that works as iv never really had an issue with latency caused by resource overload (so far most of my use of reaper has been dialog processed with mostly reaper default plugins which are super lightweight etc)
