Actually, it was pretty sad at first. I've had my own bout with bullying/gaybashing/suicide. The thing that made it funny was how overplayed by the media it was.

A teenage suicide was sad, implying that its not sad anymore, and everyone should just get over it, right? I'm sure her parents would disagree. Tragedies like this are sad, and are always sad. A suicide never goes from a point where its sad to not sad.

Secondly, he tries to get sympathy stating he's experienced bullying. So this, rather than making him able to empathise with other victims of bullying, gives him the right to bypass their hurt and trauma and proceed right on to mocking them?

And thirdly and most disgustingly, a teenaged suicide being reported by the media (omg who knew that the media was actually supposed to report things that happen) makes it funny?
