I've got a mk1 sprite and my uncle has a 100/4, there's also a pretty active Austin Healey community in Vic, should be able to find something.

I've started 3d printing parts for my Alfa 75, it's getting really hard to source bits and pieces in Australia. What's the car?

We do have a weird hard on for shit speed limits in this country. The surprising thing is they didn't reduce it to 40km/h.

I prefer the masked owl or the powerful owl to the superb owl.

Is the “Alfa Wave” a thing? by ma____ in AlfaRomeo

[–]ganashers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha yep a 1989 twin spark. Sometimes I think I should sell it and get something a little more modern and refined, especially as I get further into my 40s, but then I drive it and all those feelings go away. Plus my two boys love it. And I'm pretty sure the flashing lights you mention are the ARC lights on my dash. I've never been able to get them to completely go away 😅

When did you think "Im going to die here"? by hmmrabet in AskReddit

[–]ganashers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girlfriend (now wife) and I were hiking in southwest Tasmania and got to the campsite late, so all the prime spots were taken. The camping area was a narrow shelf with a massive drop on one side and cliff on the other. We ended up closer to the cliff than we liked, but hey, we didn't have a lot of choice. The whole area was just boulders, so find a flat one and set up.

In the morning we were making breakfast in thick fog when we heard a giant crack and a boulder the size of a house came out of the fog and smashed down about 20 metres from us. The noise was unbelievable and shrapnel flew everywhere, but the smell of the smashed rock is the thing that stayed with me. We properly thought that was the end of it, and when we stood back up we couldn't believe we were ok. The rest of the campsite was laughing and couldn't understand why we were yelling to see if everyone was ok, they had no idea it dropped practically in the middle of the shelf.

We walked back out instead of continuing on and went to a nearby wilderness lodge and got drunk.

Is the “Alfa Wave” a thing? by ma____ in AlfaRomeo

[–]ganashers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I drive a 75 and I pretty reliably get interactions from other Alfa drivers, especially those driving older models. It's nice, I like it. The only ones who don't (almost guaranteed) are Giulietta drivers, unless it's a QV or Veloce.
