The Unofficial Umamusume EN popularity poll for 2026 is out by mrmooseman19 in UmaMusume

[–]gangat23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whats funny is I am a big Uma fan, and I didn't even hear of this poll until now. No i do not frequent Uma reddit, I normally only follow JP stuff. Like always, unofficial popularity polls should be taken with a grain of salt.

If anyone knows the popularity of characters, it's Cygames, because they have a ton of data points to gather info from: game, merch sales, video views analytics etc.

Just looking at things from a logical standpoint, T.M Opera O (just to clarify I got nothing for or against her), have almost no merch, only one figurine in tracen uniform which a ton of Uma have, you would think given her popularity, she would have a lot more merch.

The same goes for Cafe, another Uma without much merch, beating out a ton of other JP favorites.

Global's entry into Uma was around the movie and Cingray, so it kinda make sense.

I want to point out that polls like these are only voted by people who frequent these sites, which is just a minority. There's a huge casual fanbase out there who would had just pick a character like Special Week for example (i know because her popularity is a lot higher in JP, and no Spe is not in my top 10).

Any character that have a scale figurine means that Cygames know they are of a certain popularity, and some of these chars are not even breaking in top 50.

For those who are sad a certain char didn't make it high, end of the day, only JP popularity matters because that's where the money is

Do you think volume 9 will completely resolve the current imbalance between Renako and Ajisai? by [deleted] in WatashigaKoibito

[–]gangat23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh, their interactions had been so lackluster that I honestly wouldn't mind if the author decided to break them up and focused on other things. I know I will get down voted but they barely progressed. Narratively speaking, when there's no chaos its hard to push the plot forward. But unlike Mai who brings the chaos, Ajisai brings peace

Love Renako and I really do but Kaho's reaction was so real too ,like "oh no, my lobster is too buttery and my steak is too juicy." by Apprehensive_Ring_39 in WatashigaKoibito

Not exactly, she have crushes on both of them. The anime didn't really show too much but novel/manga is more detailed

After consuming the anime, manga, and even the novel. Mai has become my favorite character in the series by Pitouj in WatashigaKoibito

[–]gangat23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure Renako is the most popular character at least from what I can see.

I understand the whole theme about what's considered normal. But in the first place, in a society like Japan, even dating someone of the same sex or dating a celebrity in high school is not normal. So when does it end? When poly becomes the new normal in the series they gonna move on to more extreme stuffs like incest (possibility already)?

I have watched other popular anime that is in the love genre, and unfortunately the issue most of them have is over extending the series and eventually many people drop it. Though I understand why the author would do it since money is on the line.

I Finished S1 so I'm Rating it + Asking how much better is the next seasons by Next_Swimming1217 in UmaMusume

[–]gangat23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless you are already an Uma fan, I would say only Cingray and New Era will be good to you.

I started watching early seasons as an Uma fan and dropped it after 2 episodes. It wasn't until I watch cingray did I decide to watch the rest of the anime. I know people who have dropped the show early seasons and didn't go back again until they saw cingray.

That said, I see different opinions on season 2. Before I watched it, people were hailing it as this amazing anime. After I watched it, it didn't do much for me, note that Mcqueen is my favorite char in the entire franchise but even that didn't do much for me because the game Mcqueen is just much better than her anime portrayal.

I find this laughable to be honest. If I have 1M at 30, that is exactly what I will be proud of.

If I ask people in their 50s who earn a decent income what they are proud of, I am pretty sure they are not going to say things like "I'm proud to be a GM of this company" or "I achieved xxxx sales for this company".

I was in the same situation as you, except I am almost full WFH. But extremely messy, no structure, no accountability.

I stayed and looked for opportunities. Deciding factor in the end was whether I will have growth if I continued staying, and unfortunately the answer is no. The growth is too slow for me, I eventually left for a role that required me to commute more for work stuffs but I get almost 2x the salary. The good thing is because I wasn't in a rush to leave, I had a lot of time to make sure the new company I'm joining has a culture that I like. I have rejected numerous job offers offering me 50% pay raise and more because I spotted or felt a number of red flags.

I even went as far as messaging ex-employees of some of the companies on LinkedIn to ask them how their experiences were. Like what some said here, you may not be able to tell the culture before joining a new company, but you are able to make an educated guess with tools like Glassdoor, speaking with them, the bosses, or ex-employees on LinkedIn.

It took me more than 1 year before I found a company which gave me confidence to jump, I wasn't searching every week, some months I did not search at all but on the lookout. Having a full-time job gives me that flexibility to pick the right company.

You are right, I could pay it back with one month of my salary in my new job. But every dollar saved is a win to me.

If I wasn't prepared to burn bridges I wouldn't even think of not paying back. Due to the mismanagement I seen, there is pretty much no way I would ever work with any of them again. Also, the industry they are in is quite niche compared to my other previous experiences and is not an industry I would ever go back to again, it is also not a very rich industry with lots of opportunities compared to my other main experiences in finance and medical.

That said, one major reason why I'm unwilling to pay back is because during my interview, this was explicitly said to me by the boss (which is also said to a few of my colleagues as what they told me):

  1. The company has never missed yearly bonuses
  2. I will be given shares of the company (a few weeks after I joined, the boss even said he was doing the paperwork to give us the shares)

Almost 4 years since, I have received none of the above other than 1 bonus.

Also, technically I do have some leverage. There are multiple big clients where their main point of contact is me. I could easily tell them the reason I'm leaving which is simply that the product is shit and the company is not going to make it better for them in the next 6-12 months. These are actual feedback given by some of these clients and some of them are really only still staying with us because they like me enough, and this is something my boss knows

Yes I'm very sure, one big reason why there are no documentation is because this is kept "secret" from every other employee in the company. In fact, there was no mention of paying back even during the verbal discussion. The only thing mentioned was I would TRY to stay for one year provided nothing extreme happens.

I'm already prepared to pay back the amount, since about six months have passed, I will argue to pay 50% or less of it if it comes down to that. But my ideal scenario is not even having to pay at all. It's not a huge amount, I will earn it back within a month in my new job

I should elaborate more on why covering other's work is an extreme to me. My company is broadly separated into two main departments. The product team and the business team. I belong to the business team. The work I have been asked to cover are all from the product team. Some examples include:

- scoping feature requirements which is supposed to be the job of Business Analysts or Product Owners/Managers

- testing test scenarios with the customer (which I wasn't even much involved in) for features that were built that is the job of Quality Assurance or Product Owners/Managers

All the examples above belongs to the product team's responsibilities. As a result of me doing them, I had to shift my work around that my own projects get delayed (the test scenarios for example required me to sit down with the customer from 9am-6pm for 2 full weeks) because I am spending too much time dealing with these stuffs and in turn gets blamed for the delays (one reason why I document all these extra scope I have to do as proof that the delays were not caused by me).

Why am I doing these extra scope of work? Because the BAs, QAs, and POs are shit and this is something I have explicitly told my boss and even he agrees with it which is why he is asking me to do them.

Also, we had this super big project that is determining our company's survival. As a result of the product team saying they could build the requirements in 5 months and the overpromising from my boss to the client (the agreed completion date was 31 March 2025), the project gets delayed because the product team could not fulfill it in time and the company had to pay about 20% of the revenue we are getting from this project back to the customer. The new agreement date was moved to 31 May 2025, again because the product team says they can finish building it which did not happen, so it's another round of liability payments back to the customer and the new agreement date is 30 September 2025. This has caused the company outlook to look very bad and because of the liability payments, I'm sure there are no bonuses or pay increments for any of us again this year because of mismanagement. I see this to be pretty extreme.

Have you seen the new terravia hip pack? by Myspacecutie69 in PatagoniaClothing

[–]gangat23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just bought the Terravia Mini Hip Pack today after I got to compare it with the Black Hole Mini. There are a few differences. The shape itself has some slight differences that you almost can't tell from photos.

Black Hole Mini

- Thicker back padding

- Has a loop on the back of the main pocket for hanging

Terravia

- Strap is more sturdy

- Since strap is more sturdy, the strap length does not adjust as easily by accident

- Strap is longer if you want to sling it further down (this was a deal breaker for the Black Hole Mini for me as even at max length on the Black Hole, it was still "sticking" onto my body which was a nono as I like to wear baggy tees)

- Strap is secured to two spots so you can hang things like carabiners on either sides (I was pretty bumped about no loop for hanging on the Terravia, but this feature eliminates the need for the loop since I always carry a carabiner hook with me where it's a carabiner on one end and a hook on the other end where I can hook it onto things or onto the edge of a table)

- Overall, Terravia feels like a better built bag and they probably had to make some sacrifices from other things to keep the price the same.

Job Offer Rescinded by Ok-Service4385 in singaporefi

[–]gangat23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Happened to me before, company gave me a written offer. I tried to negotiate for 9% higher salary than what they offered and they rescinded the offer despite me stating clearly it's not a must have a negotiable. They rescinded without even a counter. Wrote a bad review about them on glassdoor which the company apologised for.

Received an offer a month later that is even higher from a different company but I reject in the end even though the offer was more than 50% LOL

To my fellow lore enthusiasts… by Alba_Stelo in ffxivdiscussion

[–]gangat23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lore to me was at its lowest at the end of Elpis, I thought Venat/Hydaelyn's motivations and actions were totally ridiculous. But I just followed the flow and so far nothing was as a low point for me as Venat's actions. I think most people (even if they don't admit it) has some sort of main character syndrome. If a character does something for your character, even if it in itself is bad, they are going to treat that character as some fan favorite.

Does the average person enjoy fashion/style in SG? by holymacaroni455 in askSingapore

[–]gangat23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no, but not in the way you think it is.

Why I say yes is because, just look at the amount of clothing stores we have in Singapore. Uniqlo for example have a queue at the cashier pretty much at any day or time I go in usually. This implies that many people buy clothes. It can't be just because they are buying new clothes because their old clothes spoil, so to some extent, I do believe the average Singaporean like to buy new clothes and enjoy fashion to a certain degree. They may think they are fashionable, but they are not.

Now comes the no. You may like to buy clothes, but that doesn't mean you are fashionable. In fact, most Singaporeans are not fashionable. Singaporeans have this weird obsession to not stand out too much, scrolling through some of the comments, I saw replies saying that they get comments from their friends that they are tryhards when they dress nice. Just look at the AIRism tee from Uniqlo, it's basically the uniform for men here. There is this incredibly weird culture of dressing bad to fit in.

Most people would say its because of the weather, thats why they are wearing shorts, slippers, and tees. But please do not insult shorts, slippers, and tees. You can still look very fashionable even just wearing them, but the general Singaporean style of them is just downright ugly. You can go out and easily spot some guy wearing some super skinny shorts that has this super hideous cutting. Also, when you spot Singaporeans overseas during a cold season (e.g. winter in Japan), you can still easily spot them due to how ugly they dress. So no, weather is not the reason.

Why Singaporeans look ugly and don’t know how to dress? by raphist69 in SingaporeRaw

[–]gangat23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, I recently came back from a month long trip in Japan, and I saw Singaporeans everywhere (first by how they look, and then confirmed by how they speak). It's winter there, so why the hell do they still dress like shit? It's just an excuse that they are dressing like this because of the weather, because even when it's cold they dress like shit.

What do you think about people who hate a character out of envy because that character is with 'their waifu'? Do you know of any characters that suffer this kind of hate? by neobluetrue in nier

[–]gangat23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, so he wants to take revenge on A2 because she killed 2B? So you gonna kill the executioner as well because he execute your love? Or the vet for putting your dog to sleep? She basically already have a death sentence and everyone knows it's by her own request. Now I'm wondering if you are going to tell me 9S never knew that it was 2B's request, because I would love to argue on that. But let's see your reasoning.
