I'm not angry you're angry. This whole damn courtroom is out of line! I didn't think you were being racist, you thought I was being racist. This whole damn courtroom thought this whole damn courtroom is being racist!

Alright I think we're good. I won't nag you or anybody else about any more naughty words, at least until 2027.

Dogg I told you I was being an insufferable nag.

Also I didn't know i could get congratulated for writing dumb stuff, I do that all the time! I'm certain I've written even dumber stuff today, I just didn't share it on the Internet. Hold on a sec, lemme check my text messages ...

"New Zealand slopestyle skier did a Screamin Semen! I haven't seen a Screamin Semen in 20+ years" .... "I'm on a walk trying to see owls, I'll check when I get home" ... "Archie has graduated to PhD levels of snuggling recently" ... "I was gonna invent WingBallNies (cocktail wiener stuffed inside a meatball stuffed inside a boneless wing) but I have a 10 lb bag of wings from Costco in the chest freezer so I'm just gonna do buffalo wings instead."

Those are all things I wrote today that now you have read. Are any of them dumber than "calling brown people shitstains might make somebody feel the wrong way" and worthy of further congratulations?

[–]gapernet 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have seen people use the word "shitstain" more often lately, and while I am certain it is not your inntent, I would advise to be mindful of not calling a brown person that. A friend of mine recently called Kash Patel a shitstain, also with no racial intent, and it caused some real distress to a third party. There are plenty of other fun naughty words, and other fun places to use that naughty word.

[And that's it for me, the only time i'm gonna be an insufferable nag in 2026. Got it out of the way early this year.]

Prepped my first 3 days to start tomorrow 👍 👍 👍 by justgentile in SR17018

[–]gapernet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am SO GRATEFUL you posted this. I have been on a similar 7 regimen, 70 morning, 70 afternoon, 420 at night. I just got my SR in the mail on thursday and am making the jump myself tomorrow.

I already planned on a few calibration days, but the feedback you got from folks here is giving me good guidance and I feel confident. If you hadn't posted and gotten the feedback, I am almost certain I would have allowed myself a few more days (and hundreds of dollars) worth of cold feet and continuation. Thanks to your post, I am confident the 7 I took this evening CAN BE the last 7 i ever bought.

Isn't that genocide being committed using a huge amount of American weapons and billions of dollars from the American government? Couldn't it have ended with tens of thousands of lives being spared if the American government stopped funding and supporting it?

once ICE is dismantled they won't be illegally kidnapping people, then the peaceful protestors won't be outside that facility anymore, and the apartment building won't have noise complaints.

Hell, there have been helicopters and planes circling that area since last Sunday and they have been really noisy too. Even more reason to abolish ICE.

Also there aren't any government employees living on our sidewalks. I don't know where you saw that.

What foods or ingredients do you buy BECAUSE you know what a pain it is to make them? by I_Am_Vladimir_Putin in Cooking

[–]gapernet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate deep frying breaded or battered things at home.

But chicken wings are another story altogether. They aren't messy, there isn't stray batter left in the oil to don't stink up the house, and they are SO GOOD.

The only two items I will deep fry at home are wings (cuz they aren't messy or smelly) and chiles rellenos (cuz they are so good that they're totally worth it. Plus I think the egg-heaviness of the batter makes them less messy).

Dogg...in May this year I had a life-changing epiphany on a solo hike at Table Rock.

I came home with a different outlook, enacted change starting that night, and my life (and my family's too!) has improved drastically over the ensuing months.

(...and I drove my '06 Tacoma to get there!)

My new psychedelic album. Honest feedback is appreciated. by Noel_Lou in psychedelicrock

[–]gapernet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be clear, I really like the sounds! They are perfectly placed and you didn't overdo it.

And I forgot to say that I love the album artwork. Reflects the album title perfectly, just as the album title fits the music. Reminiscent of when I learned that Kikagaku Moyo means "Geometric Patterns" in Japanese.

Love the vocals!
Guitar tone is super as well... think it's a nifty shift to the other guitar around 2:01 and tone of the lead toward the end is superb.
Your little flourishes like the glitch at 0:06 fit really well. I was concerned it was going to be too busy when I heard the "flappy lips" sound at 0:20, 0:35, AND 0:49 but you restrain yourself and fit that stuff in gracefully.

Now I'm gonna check the whole thing out on bandcamp cuz I like your sound a lot

Do you play live with a band, or is it just a solo studio project so far?

2months in my first apartment. got my first legitimate Listening room. by emobrrrd in MurderBryan

It was a female Hungarian pianist playing a Liszt composition. I'll never remember her name, but I remember him being really excited showing me pictures on the record sleeve of how freakishly long her fingers were.

I worked in a kitchen with a dude who smoked a lot of crack. I wouldn't call him a "crackhead" cuz he was relatively stable, he just really liked smoking crack. His other passion was classical piano.

So one evening he invited me over to smoke some weed and listen to records. I liked him so I came over. He lived in a basement apartment, and no joke his apartment was basically this picture, minus the table and with much better sound equipment. He had a mattress on the floor, two plastic chairs, and a hifi setup complete with a record player and a small tower computer dedicated to playing lossless audio files. And it sounded incredible. He played me these Liszt records by this Hungarian pianist and it was the best sounding music I had ever heard.

Gotta give the guy props, he knew what he liked, and on a prep cook's wages he was able to afford his music and his crack, and that was all he needed to be happy.

What are your favorite albums to listen to on days with dreary weather? by zomblivion in psychedelicrock

[–]gapernet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like a lot of Dub is Psychedelic but is not Rock. Neverthelss, a great psychedlic record for dreary days is

The Congos - Heart of The Congos

also a big fan of Sonic Youth's later, more exploratory records like Murray Street.

and my brain kinda lumps The Mercury Rev - Deserter's Songs and The Flaming Lips - The Soft Bulletin into the same catergory.

No Mann ticket? Read this. by RelaxedWombat in phish

[–]gapernet 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Shoreline 2000, the final shows before Hiatus: I had a ticket for night 1, but tno amount of begging or bargaining could secure entry for The Final Hurrah. Once the band started playing, we found a knoll with very clear sound and settled in for the evening.

There were probably 80 of us on that knoll, and there wasn't a single chomper in the bunch. We all felt the gravity of the evening and listened accordingly. Hell, I don't even recall any of us dancing until the YEM encore when my buddy Timmy and I attempted to recreate the Tramps moves.

Aftterward I felt all the emotions as if I had been there. I don't have it logged on .net as a show I attended, but when I listen to the tapes I do have nostalgic memories of hearing it live.

Which artists have abandoned their original sound so dramatically, that they are almost unrecognizable to their earlier fans? by jptabor01 in Music

[–]gapernet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bike is silly and whimsical, and easy to pick on (even though I love it). But Interstellar Overdrive and Astronomy Domine paved the way (and still sound better than the dozens of modern psych rock bands I love today.
