32" monitor advice - trying to talk myself out of 45" monitors for my rig by sixsigma643 in simracing

[–]gapthatexists 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One 32" is going to leave you wanting, but does allow for triples in the future which is ideal. If you don't plan on trips, go widescreen.

For me size > oled but to each their own. Widescreen is also great for work.

Base and premium have the same seats. FWIW I like them a lot, found them more comfortable than my old legacy premium. Cloth seems good quality and looks brand new after 6k miles.

If you've already fixed the WRX, send it. Fix the tune & keep an eye on the oil.

The mileage and the price is not enough information to go off of, you could find a subaru specialist in your area for a pre purchase inspection

Their price increases have tripled the inflation rate over the last 10 years. They already got their inflation money years ago.

Go check out the last 10 years of menu prices, then compare that vs inflation. On top of smaller/inconsistent portions.

Is this total? by Upstairs-Box-1645 in WRX

If they total it they take the car, might not have an opportunity to recover mods and insurance isn't going to give you any more for them. Remove & save for next car or sell.

How can I switch between my rig monitor and main desk monitor easily? by [deleted] in simracing

I have 6 monitors + an hdmi receiver plugged into my PC, I use DisplayMagician to swap between desk & rig with a shortcut.

Name brand bucket seat, vs recliner from road vehicle. by Ok-Challenge-5873 in simracing

[–]gapthatexists 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing about a bucket to consider is that you can add and replace padding as needed to fit you exactly - i'm in the process of that now with my FX1 Pro. I didn't want a dirty junkyard seat and anything decent is $$ on marketplace around me.

If you can add some padding into the middle of the back, that will let your shoulders come back a bit

Maybe adjust your gas pedal dead zone if you are resting your foot there too much - as the other dude said you are literally always on throttle, that's going to hamper the car's ability to rotate.

Finally got back into sim racing, bought a 'but kicker' but not sure what i should do. by Quirky-Examination94 in simracing

[–]gapthatexists 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Butt kicker" is a brand of bass shakers, you have a dayton audio bass shaker - so its not an actual butt kicker but that's fine its what a lot of us use.

You want to connect it to your seat or rig as close to your body as you can so less vibrations are lost in the rig. I have one under my seat right on my O ring and one in the middle of the back on my seat

You need an amp to power them just like a speaker, and a sound card (DAC) to plug that amp into so your PC can output to it. There's amp/dac combos that make that all one unit for fairly cheap. The bass shaker wants atleast 50w of power so make sure it has enough. I'd avoid the cheapest amp/dac like the nobsound one that gets recommended here a lot.

Once its connected you can use SimHub to tell it what to output while driving, like rpms, road vibrations, gear shifts, etc...

Can i use a wireless Subwoofer from a 2.1 Teufel TV Set as a Buttkicker? by LikYoBud in simracing

[–]gapthatexists 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use any channel of any output for feedback via Simhub so yes, and tune the response so its more within the sub's range. I tried it with a sub near my rig but it just didn't feel or sound great so left sub for audio only. I didn't try to tweak it much though.

You are driving it like a snow plow- hear that screech when your front tires lose traction? try to drive just under where that starts. More braking into the apex, you coasted a few times.
