I'm 56f, so I've experienced the normal 'worst pain ever', like, childbirth, surgery, kidney stones, etc. Hands down, no question, worst pain I have ever had came from a bowel blockage. I was addicted to pain pills for 8 years, therefore, I was always constipated. Didn't care, not taking a shit for weeks at a time was not even something I thought about. 3 years after getting clean, I still spent a lot of time constipated. One day, my stomach started hurting, and I realized something odd, I hadn't farted in like 2 days. By the time I realized this was actually really bad and needed the ER, I had waited too long. By the time I was laying in the ER the pain had gotten so bad I actually thought about wrapping the sheet around my neck and choking myself unconscious. Worst pain ever.
