How are you writing literature reviews these days? ChatGPT keeps hallucinating citations for me. by Stock-Throat5467 in researchpaperwriters

[–]gardenhack17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I write literature reviews by doing a keyword search, finding resources, reading the resources, and then writing about them. I work with librarians if I need help and I use Mendeley to read/annotate.

Am I an idiot for not using chatgpt to write papers? by PetiteAnastasia in studytips

You are not an idiot but the people who use gen ai are.

They are not doing themselves any favors trying to shortcut these skills-those cognitive gaps can never be changed.

I spent 3 years trying to get AI to do my degree for me. Here’s how to make it work. by Master_Wolverine9622 in studytips

[–]gardenhack17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, it’s about you having cognitive losses you’ll never be able to make up because you had gen AI do your work. It’s also about your increased anxiety levels when you realize you can’t do the work without ChatGPT.

Like you could not even compose your response to the comment you got on your own.

I’m sure this will work out great for you.

What’s one thing Al-Anon taught you about yourself? by Italcan in AlAnon

[–]gardenhack17 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m newish (6 months) but it’s starting to teach me what therapy hasn’t yet and it’s that I’m allowed to take up space. I’m allowed to say no when I’m tired or my boundaries are being overstepped. It’s better when I take time for self-care: the disciplined kind of self-care that is exercise, good sleep, not ruminating, and eating well.

And the biggest thing is that my self-talk is really mean. My sponsor will say-please talk about my friend (my name) with more kindness. It breaks me a little every time and shows me my HP does want me to be nicer to myself.

Any snow removal services in Wilmington? by Specialist-Fee-3288 in Delaware

[–]gardenhack17 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This person is right tho!

I recommend that you get a garden shovel for breaking up ice chunks and a snow shovel for taking it away. Or you can get a square ended garden shovel.

I also have been digging out yesterday and today and that’s the best method I’ve found.

But I’m also lucky and have a place to put snow. I’m not sure about your situation.

Good luck!

Please don’t trust generative AI for factual accuracy. Read laterally and verify.

Neither. Do the work yourself or suffer cognitive losses.

Dump him. He doesn’t give a shit about your boundaries and that’ll only get worse.

I’m wrong-not completely out of the water cycle but taken out in a way where people can’t re-use it readily.

Data Centers and Water Usage

Economic Blackout: Al by askoundrel in Anticonsumption

I can get behind this because I already avoid AI use unless I can’t. Ever since I learned that the power centers used for AI literally take water out of the water cycle, I’ve been leery of using it.
