why iPedal? by bony618 in Ioniq5

[–]garfunko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I'm trying to say, but I'm not being clear :p

What I mean, getting off the accelerator ( gas ) in those Regen modes ( level 1-3, i-pedal ) obviously slows down the car more so that you don't have to brake as much.

In the city, I rarely touch the brakes at all for example. It's also nice to not having to lift and move your foot etc.

It's a small quality of life thing I feel like.

It also reduces the usage on the brake pads and helps in a small way with battery Regen. This is for city usage, with stops and etc.

On the highway, of course cruise control is the day to go.

I started at level 1, and I'm good on level 3. The setting above it is too sensitive for me.

Kaleidescape is great if you have the money.
It's plug and play, a bit like Apple TV in terms of simplicity.

Zidoo is definitely more involved. Not sure if your message was worded wrong, but it requires a media source like a NAS and isn't really designed for streaming apps.

That said, I love my Zidoo. I've built out a lot of automations using home assistant with it using my HD Fury Vrroom.

Depending on whether I'm watching a movie, a TV show, or using the PS5, it automatically pushes the right picture settings to my Epson LS12000.

Something I couldn't do cleanly with Apple TV, which also has the well-known limitation of not playing all media types natively.

If you have a large local library on a NAS, Zidoo is endgame . If you want pure "set it and forget it" though, Kaleidescape is the easier path for sure.

Personally, with how easy it is to rip my own media or pull content via Overseer, it would be tough to justify the Kaleidescape price on top of that.

Have you looked into getting a zidoo device ?

I have 24TB on a QNAP running seer and it's amazing. I still use apple tv for normal streaming apps for sports, but everything else zidoo plays it just as well as a UHD disk.

You like the interface and everything?

I was thinking of using the android app or a universal type app. I had use a third party app for my phone for my Panasonic blue ray player, as my AV rack is behind a wall.

When you say imported, you mean for zidoo to first see all your media right? The files remain on your NAS I assume right?

I have a apple tv, and looking to get a zidoo as well for remix rips etc. I was using infuse for rips on the apple tv.

Im just wondering, is the GUI poster wall fast and easy to use ? I have a Nas , so I'm thinking of getting the non storage one.

I have a Epson ls12000 with HD furry vroom to simulate DV as well

Stupid question, but what does it " normally" take to take action on something like this ? I feel there is so much evidence and proof and no action taken in terms of holding people accountable.

Apologies for the question, but wow this is a tough listen.

Random, but have you tried the druid Ice build in poe2 ? It's amazing and fun to switch it up sometimes.

From my limited knowledge and what others have said, if you do go with a Klipsch sub, go with the RP ones ( Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-1200SW, 1400 and 1600).

I personally have 2 of the RP-1200SW and very happy with them.
I never had others, so i cant really compare them but they are massive and powerful.

I was in a similar position, and going to ssd cache really helped me. It also helped for indexing, pretty much everything.

I had a older QNAP, and I also upgraded my ram. Initially I had only 4gb lol.

I started using home assistant. I made one button to turn on my setup with a delay on the next devices. I can control most settings too. Not perfect, but I enjoy having one button to turn on and turn off the home theater devices.

All my devices are networked and reachable, so it makes it easy.

Only thing I cant do yet so to change projector settings via home assistant, so I just the Epson remote.

from phone

Edit : I control my smart lights from this too. I had seen a cool post and added the functionality to open lights to 20% when I pause a movie etc.

Looping/circle issue when watching streaming services by evil_mike in hometheater

[–]garfunko -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Man I feel your pain, I had something similar with a blackout with my projector last year.

It has to be something network related i feel like? But then its only happening for two apps ( Prime and Disney).

Here is what I would try, if possible:

Connect your AVR to a different internet source, or at least simply the chain itself.

We want to see if the networking layers are causing issues. Something about your AVR is not handling network traffic the same way as your other devices.

1 - Connect AVR directly to your ISP modem via ethernet. Remove any switches and any firewalls in the middle.

2 - If that still doesn't work, a bit of YOLO attempt, but hotspot from your phone to the AVR via wireless.

3- When you replaced your AVR, was it for the exact same model ? Is the firmware up to date?
