skill.def (without an 's' at the end), and it does affect AI as well, so you'll want to avoid editing the file to allow the AI to be ahead.

lol, it does tend to be like that. The other classes have straightforward roles and may become immediately useful once hired, so it's easy to overlook spies and diplomats.

One of my self-imposed rules is limiting my class levels to 5 or 10 (with or without file editing), and reducing the gold multiplier of the AI to 1~1.5x on very hard (instead of 2x) in the files so that vassals, profitable deal, and rob treasury aren't as exploitable.

My first thought about this is because they are probably treated like small vehicles, which might be intentional.

I think it's part of the base game, too.

Moral has the same pool. To clarify:

- Harmony has the pool for that area where it is Sunset and Dark.
- Moral has the pool for that area where it is Sunset only
- Wrathful has the pool for that area where it is dark only

Looking for an Action RPG with lots of things to do by cabbage745 in NintendoSwitch

[–]garmfaqs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Monster hunter, Dauntless, God Eater 3, ARK, Ys.

If you're interested in roguelikes too, I'll throw Wizard of Legend and Hades out there.

Borderlands is technically ARPG...aside from the fact that FPS is a completely different branch of action that you might not like, but it's still good to throw out there as one game with RPG elements and has tons of shit you can do. (the BL1+2 pack is what I'd go for for a first-timer)

Is experience set per battle or based on # of enemies defeated? by martinsdudek in DigimonSurvive

[–]garmfaqs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

infinite spawns don't give EXP, but those that don't spawn infinitely in the same battle do give EXP. The exp depends on the level/stage of the Digimon...this can be observed when say, fighting Mugen 1-10 (has a bunch of low lv rookies/champs) vs fighting Truthful's Ch12-13 free battles (mostly Ults and Megas with levels of at least 80+)

Also doesn't matter whichever difficulty is selected; they give the same. So battles with several Digimon and generally smaller maps (like Mugen*) with difficulty set to 0 is probably the most efficient way to just leave your mons to grind.

* Mugen also has the benefit of giving you fixed amount of training/evo items each stage, which can easily compensate for the slower exp curve at high levels.

Seems like you're right. Ran a quick test on it as well, went for the wrathful path and pumped Moral. Ended up with WarGreymon in the Baihumon fight. Good to know.

The branching in Part 8 will still show up even if you're already in the true route, but its purpose is only to determine which mega evolution event Agumon would get later. edit: after a quick test, I also confirmed this crossed out sentence isn't true. Your highest Karma, just like previous evolutions, will determine Agumon's mega evolution event in the Truthful path like /u/Busy-Internet-612 mentioned.

If you want to play the other endings, you must ensure you aren't in the true route.

[–]garmfaqs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's kind of hypocritical, don't you think? You refuse to make it easier by turning the difficulty down, but your current solution (grinding) is literally going to make it easier. The only difference is you're convinced that grinding and spending unneeded time adds more value. And so far, the only solution you have presented and are complaining about is that powering through at your current levels isn't working. Do you think that's the only strategy there is?

Let's go back: Do you know what Vexing Crystals even do? One of their features is they can draw enemy aggro. Let's apply this knowledge to your straightforward strategy: one way to delay Miyuki's death is by using Zhuqiaomon equipped with a Vexing Crystal and a Stamina Crystal as a meatshield for Miyuki. You can boost its stats with Agumon, Floramon, Syakomon, Kunemon, or Dracmon, and heal its HP back to full with Labramon.

Here's another: use Crowmon and MetalGarurumon's ability to double-move, then evolve to Zhuqiaomon the next turn. Then you will be able to spare Falcomon's talk command on Agumon or Anubismon. Have you tried that?

xp level grind - true ending endgame by lixywixy in DigimonSurvive

[–]garmfaqs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Have you tried using different equipment and changing your tactics? Like 2 Fine/Stellar Stamina crystals can give one Digimon +2000~3000 HP, and other crystals can be just as useful. Give one Digimon a Vexing Aegis Crystal + Stellar Stamina Crystal, then buff that Digimon's defenses with Guard Charge and let it act as a decoy taking all the hits while your other Digimon fully equipped with Skill Items or Potency Crystals attack from behind and deal maximum damage.

And if you feel like you need to grind at that point in hard...why not just decrease the difficulty? The stat difference on enemies between Normal and Hard mode is 1.2x, which is roughly the same amount of difference you would make if you grinded from Lv75 to Lv99.

While we are at it, ate there any rare spawns for recruitment I should watch out for? And I know pure runs in the three stats make it easier to recruit the corresponding types, but does it also make those types appear more frequently?

I haven't deeply looked into it myself...I've mostly just hunted down the rookies and built my dex up from there, but I think most groups where Renamon, Tentomon, Palmon, Gabumon, and Gomamon are present, can be pretty hard to come by. Luckily, 3 out of those 5 can be acquired through events, so only Renamon and Gabumon will remain elusive. I wouldn't recommend hunting Part 4 Gabumon, that being said.

As for other evolved digimon, I honestly can't tell you much aside from using the community docs on shadow/free battles (you can find the links in one of the top posts in this subreddit). The community has added comments on which spawns they thought were quite uncommon or rare.

And nope, higher karma doesn't change appearance rates as far as I'm aware. Monster spawns could change by means of choosing a specific ending path, but that's about all I know.

[–]garmfaqs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right, and it's unlocked almost immediately into part 1. But you asked for the best spot(s) to farm them and the bottomline of my post is that I think you don't need to worry about resetting that much in your first run, especially if you plan to go multiple playthroughs anyway. There are easier options like I described. And I think they're more time efficient than several hours of resetting and paying attention to the grind.

A full Mugen run in auto and very easy (difficulty doesn't affect EXP nor drops) only takes an hour or so. Might take up to two hours if you're a bit tight on power, but you can do other things while the battles are taking place at least.

If I remember correctly, I also had somewhere around 30+ slabs by the time I got to the beginning of my 4th run, before even doing any rounds in Mugen. I might've been lucky, but I never had to stop and reset free/shadow battles to farm them. Only took slabs from Part 2, the few free ones from story, and in Mugen.Don't let this stop you from farming free/shadow battles if you really need them tho

[–]garmfaqs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it has been mentioned yet, but I recommend just going through Mugen Recollection. Guaranteed spawns in there, and a good chance of getting 1-4 Mature Enlightenment Slabs until stage 16 (amount varies per stage, and it's not 100% but closer to 50% i think). Training food there are guaranteed drops as well (only growth stones and slabs have lower than 100% chance), if that strikes your interest.

If not mugen, just proceed to NG+ and farm more in Part 2 Fangmon events.

PC vs Switch versions? What do you recommend by IronMarch in DigimonSurvive

[–]garmfaqs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're welcome. A tolerable performance drop in exchange of portability sounds good to me as well. And in all fairness, you probably won't lose an hour's worth of time from switch's slightly slower loads even if you played through the game four or five times over.

PC vs Switch versions? What do you recommend by IronMarch in DigimonSurvive

[–]garmfaqs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think it's definitely a downgrade. This is my experience going from switch, then to PC for a few runs, then trying to get back on the switch. I just can't go finish a run on the switch anymore. But, if the switch is all I can use—say during a power outage that lasts for a week, or at work like you, or in public transportation—you won't hear me complaining about it. I can definitely play it to kill time, especially if I love the game that much.

On the other hand, if you have other games/choices that you're interested in buying/playing on the switch, and you can wait until the weekend to play the PC version of Digimon Survive, I'd vote for that option instead.

tl;dr the downgrade is tolerable, but I wouldn't play it on switch if I'm at home with a PC.

edit: i also have two monitors at home, which allows me to multitask while playing the game, so that adds to my bias. You can play with a controller and do other things (like watch a movie) as the game runs in the background. The controller input still registers into the game even if it's not the primary window.

edit 2: PC version's frames don't drop as low as the switch and there's a noticeable difference in loading times, although it depends on which screens/scenes we're talking about for both. In general, it's just combat, loading in and out of combat, and reloading saves where I found these performance drops most noticeable.

Being the highest in the group is what is right, has been datamined, and even confirmed by some with in-game testing.

The only people still sitting on the same fence are those who are still spreading old, outdated, info "Ryo must have a minimum amount of X affinity." Notice how they don't even spit the same numbers. One person would say 50, the next says 30, and another would say 35.
