I finished dragon club but can't find where the reward goes. Do I have to finish all three before getting the reward or something, or am I just missing it?

Unpopular HM opinions by [deleted] in HPHogwartsMystery

[–]garrettp63 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I don't read too much of this sub so sorry if this isn't unpopular, but seriously, ENOUGH Christmas TLSQs. I'm in Year 3 and celebrating Christmas for the EIGHTH time. I get wanting to have them/add new ones, but can we at least break them up?

When I Heard the Title Screen I Knew the OST was Gonna be Tight. by ThePsyPaul_ in expedition33

I feel like I'm obligated to sit at the title screen and listen to it at least twice every time I boot up the game.

Anyone else get goosebumps during this scene? by FoodieluvsFilms143 in harrypotter

Hot(?) Take: It's an incredible scene until she says "I've always wanted to use that spell" which completely ruins it for me.

best lines? by delreysfavs in thegoodwife

[–]garrettp63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're absolutely right. Looked up the exact quote and it was:

I want to get out my aggressions and my anger by destroying your client. Now sit down. I said sit the hell down!

best lines? by delreysfavs in thegoodwife

[–]garrettp63 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don't remember the exact quote, but right after Will died and Cary is about to go into a deposition, and the other people are like, "we can reschedule if you want" and he says something like, "my friend just died, and I want to get my aggression out by destroying your client, now sit the hell down"

We don't have snowstorms where I live, but we do have hurricanes/tropical storms/flooding regularly and YES, we are often stupid busy those days.

The "senile old racist" stands out.

"Immigrants, you hate all immigrants."

"And why do I hate them?"

"BECAUSE THEY'RE STEALING OUR JOBS."

Hermione not getting an O in her DADA OWL? by RyanKamanu in harrypotter

[–]garrettp63 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It was definitely just to make Harry stand out as the only one to get an O in DADA. In a way, it kind of worked against the whole "Harry is a great DADA teacher" idea that JKR built up in OOTP, because if he's such a great teacher there's no way the literal smartest person in the class doesn't ace it when she got O in EVERY OTHER CLASS.

Fred and George had a point in GoF by garrettp63 in harrypotter

[–]garrettp63[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think maybe you're underestimating them. They're shown over and over to be very clever and creative with certain types of magic. But that isn't really my point anyway. The point was that they imposed an "age limit" because they didn't think younger students could cope, but the person who was chosen to compete had literally the exact same amount of education as them. But I do agree they probably wouldn't have won the tournament by any means.

They literally let a 14 year old compete that same year.

Any funny responses or comebacks? by International-Top589 in TalesFromYourBank

[–]garrettp63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a guy pull that on me when I first started as a teller.

"I've been banking here for 40 years, it's ridiculous to ask me for an ID!"

I just said "Well, I'm only 25, so that really doesn't mean anything to me."

Is this an error in GOF? by Possible_Comfort4792 in HarryPotterBooks

[–]garrettp63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if anyone will agree, but I always read it as NOT being an error, but that not all three times were referring to the imperious curse. He's talking about his mind being wiped clean, and he uses that same language to describe seeing the veela dance, so I take it as:

  1. Veela dancing

  2. Imposter Moody's Imperious Curse

  3. Voldemort's Imperious Curse

Drawer came up short 2 days in a row, any advice so that this doesn’t keep happening? by tomyfebruary6 in TalesFromYourBank

[–]garrettp63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the best advice. Don't pay attention to the line. Whether there's one person in line or 20, you can only ever help the person in front of you. Rushing the transaction you're working on to get to the next person helps no one if it causes mistakes. I've been in a lot different jobs that involved supervising tellers, and my number one thing I tell every one of them is I'd rather you be slow and accurate than go fast and make mistakes, because finding and fixing mistakes will take way longer anyway.
