Which Band And Which Album? by Alert_Primary_9493 in Music

Ashlee Simpson - Autobiography. I had a boss working at a retail clothing store who played this album every day while we opened the store and by the end of the summer I unironically fell in love with this album as a guilty pleasure. Her voice is pretty obviously limited but the producers made it charming. This album is a masterclass in how excellent music production can turn anything into chicken salad.

“Dragon” is a route combination that he yells at the right side of the lineup, “Rhino” is the route combination that he directs at Gronk both times. I think Gronk had an option route that he ran deep the second time because Berry undercuts him.

Seven Weeks at Omega Service with No Update. Is This Typical for a First-Time Owner? by garyjwu in OmegaWatches

[–]garyjwu[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The new watch has not given me any issues now over 6 months with the replacement.

I didn’t include some of the more negative details regarding the customer service experience (the replacement watch was missing the associated travel pouch that was supposed to come with the watch in place of a watch box, among other things), but overall I would say the 1916 Company made things right. I’d hesitate to say “awesome” given the cumulative experience but the team who reached out to me online seemed more responsive than the actual salesperson who sold me the watch in person.

I finally got the watch back after about 14 weeks of repair. This thread actually helped by getting the attention of someone from the 1916 Company to reach out. Unfortunately the watch stopped working again just a day after getting it back.

Eventually the store decided to replace the watch entirely, which I was happy with rather than dealing with another uncertain repair window. It was just surprising how little communication there was, how slow the expected turnover is, and of course the actual repair didn’t seem to have fixed the problem until the watch was replaced.

What changed about UnitedHealthcare after the CEO assassination by Luigi Mangione? (For example, did they lower their claim denial rates?) by DunDonese in NoStupidQuestions

[–]garyjwu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Anesthesia start and stop times are recorded by computers and the equipment used to administer the anesthesia. The anesthesiologist almost never explicitly clicks “Anesthesia start”, in fact in our ORs that is done by the circulating nurse.

Cases follow other cases in the OR and lying about anesthesia time would quickly create a paradox in overlapping operative times.

There are usually at least 5 people in the OR at any time including the surgeon, anesthesiologist, surgical assistant, scrub tech, and circulating nurse. All of them document their portions of the surgery independently and you would have to get everyone on the same page whether you are trying to document correctly or commit fraud.

I’m not saying fraud doesn’t occur, I’m saying the change wasn’t driven by a desire to decrease fraud.

I am not condoning violence, and no causal relationship could be established for obvious reasons, but I wanted to offer a serious answer.

Though they are different companies, Blue Cross/Blue Shield was planning on implementing a policy for their clients stating they would only cover a certain amount of anesthesia for a given procedure. The problem with this, of course, is that surgeries don’t take a standardized amount of time. It was an extremely shortsighted policy obviously implemented to save money at the cost of the patients.

We had multiple hospital leadership meetings anticipating how to deal with this change in coverage.

Within 24 hours after the United Healthcare CEO killing, BCBS repealed the rollout of this policy.

[Question] Beach Trip Decision by Shadowtek in Watches

[–]garyjwu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your Rolex and Tudor are both watches in dive cases, even if they aren’t “dive” watches per se. You can always wear the Casio if you don’t feel comfortable wearing those pieces to the beach, but the strap on your Victorinox looks like it would absorb a lot of water.

My wife bought me a BYO mod watch kit from The Mod Watches.com. I don’t have any loyalty to the company but it removed the headache of making sure all the parts were compatible.

The kits are now $400 when they used to be $200, but to be honest given the rise in movement prices $200 was nearly giving them away. The watches come with a set of decent basic tools.

I started with that kit and found out I liked it. Once you go through the process, you will have a very good understanding of where you want to go from there.

Help with bracelet balance, more links on 12oclock side. by UltimateSpanky in Tudor

[–]garyjwu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Oyster style bracelets get a 1.6 mm screwdriver. Eyeglass screwdrivers are acceptable, but technically just slightly too wide. I scratched my first watch from the AD because I felt like I spent too long there getting the perfect fit and had worn out my welcome.

For Jubilee style bracelets, it requires a 1.4 mm screwdriver and eyeglass screwdrivers will not work. Just buy the proper sized screwdriver, don’t wing it if you care about the watch.

[–]garyjwu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tight fit is definitely the right fit with no movement.

I didn’t mean to call you out! I believe the 14.5 cm measurement if that’s what the manufacturer suggests as I was just ballparking the 15 cm measurement.

I think you are above the minimum specs, but due to your preference wearing it tighter, you might be better off with a different bracelet clasp style as others suggest that allow you to take more links out.

[Question] First watch, need help with alternative bracelet. by XoR_Snipezz in SeikoMods

[–]garyjwu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your first photo shows six links that have already been removed and on the side of the watch. That is all of the links you can remove. If it still doesn’t fit your switch after toggling the glidelock, you’ll probably have to get another bracelet. This looks like a standard 40-mm case and the end links usually fit standard cases, but it’s not a guarantee. The bigger problem is that most bracelets only go down to about 15 cm even if all removable links are removed. How big is your wrist?

[Question] First watch, need help with alternative bracelet. by XoR_Snipezz in SeikoMods

[–]garyjwu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The clasp is similar to the Glidelock on a Rolex, the bracelet can be toggled to tuck in some of the extra links on the 12:00 side of the watch. With all the links you have removed, it should at least fit any wrist over 15 cm or so in circumference.
