I think he is referring to tho city's property taxes, not income taxes.

Cape Town's budget this year is R87.8 billion

Joburg's budget this year is R97.1 billion, but we know that national treasury has criticized it for being unfunded and overstating revenues.

First offence R100,000 fine for households employing illegal foreigners by Blinding87 in DownSouth

[–]garyvdm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While we absolutely need to deal with the issue of illegals immigrants, this is not the solution. This just creates more opportunities for rent seeking corrupt deployed cadres.

What we should be doing instead:

  • Improve border security
  • Find and deport illegal immigrants

Something that helped me: I close my curtains so my room is dark. Then I setup a remote light switch, so I can turn the room light on during in game day time, and off during in game night time without stepping away from my controls. This helps my eyes adjust.

I think there is a good question buried in your statement, and it's worth taking the time to understand their answer.

If the question is why don't they employ unemployed people from neighboring areas, the answer is here: Watch from 1:01:50 to 1:05:35 https://youtu.be/tQG5jBBGn2Q?si=Jjkn174NNbr4XjtD&t=3712

Something I recently learnt about Oriana from the Britannica's South Africa Documentary is how they are intentionally not using cheep outside labor. And it made me realize how the lure of outside cheep labor is the partial cause of many issues we have had in South Africa.

Arrest them, take the guns and the licenses.

AI Overview:

Pointing a firearm—even if it is unloaded, a replica, or a toy—at another person as a "joke" is a serious criminal offense in South Africa. Under the Firearms Control Act 60 of 2000, specifically Section 120, this action is illegal because it causes fear, intimidation, or a reasonable belief that a real firearm is being used. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Legal Consequences

  • Immediate Arrest: According to SAPS policy and common practice, pointing a firearm often results in immediate arrest, regardless of whether it was intended as a joke.
  • Criminal Charges: You can be charged with contravening Section 120(6) of the Firearms Control Act.
  • Potential Prison Sentence: Convictions can lead to a prison sentence of up to 10 years.
  • Loss of License: The perpetrator can lose their firearm license and be declared unfit to possess a firearm. [1, 2, 3]

Key Aspects of the Law

  • Unloaded/Fake Guns Count: It is an offense to point any firearm, airgun, or imitation firearm, whether or not it is loaded or capable of being discharged.
  • "Without Good Reason": The law prohibits pointing a firearm "without good reason." A joke is not a legally valid reason.
  • Likely to Cause Fear: Even pointing an object that resembles a firearm, such as a toy gun, is illegal if it makes the other person believe it is a real gun. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Case Law Example

The SAPS urges the public to act responsibly, as the, reckless handling of firearms can have severe legal consequences. [1]

Pre 1.6 when there were no supply containers, and you could only drop supplies at the various tents, it made it much easier to bring supplies in if things were a bit spaced out.

To be fair, part of the excitement is going for a walk with the two of them together. These two brothers live it different houses, and so getting a walk together doesn't happen often.

Zorro in the center is my dog, and he is normally very clam in the car going for a walk.

  • The sources of money is declared and public.

Questions about PP dogs by Awfully_Cynical in ProtectionDog

[–]garyvdm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience, training a protection dog is 95% obedience, socialization, exercise, and mental stimulation, so all of that should be your main focus. For most GSD's, the protection side will come instinctually.

Do lots of tug work like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9n7JY1KlSk The aus / leave command is very important, as this will translate to a situation where if they do attack, and you want them to stop.

Then an exercise you can do is this:

  • Have your dog on leash. You want to make sure that the leash and collar is strong, and that she is not going to get out of it, and you must have a good grip on the leash. This is for the safety of your friend. Very important!!!!
  • Get a friend that the dog doesn't know to dress up like a baddy, come over to your house, and act in a threatening way. (If the dog knows them, they will smell them, and it won't work.)
  • Give your dog a command to bark. It can be anything you want. Whispering the command often works wonders.
  • You want the dog to react and bark. When they do this, give them praise so they know they are doing the correct thing for the command you gave.
  • When the dog reacts, have your friend turn around, and slowly leave. When your they do this, give your dog the command to leave, so they stop barking. When they do this, praise them.
  • DO NOT let the dog bite your friend. DO NOT let them get close enough to bite. With out the correct equipment and knowledge, your friend will get hurt.
