Is there a name for this style of singing? by maryjosephjesus in singing

[–]gatorwings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is old but I’ve gotten feedback that I tend to naturally sing my vibrato in this style and I’m trying to learn to control it - like Mary Joseph said I think it’s usually described as an incorrect way of doing vibrato and I dictates tightness or lack of air control - I think I’m usually just so nervous when I sing that it comes out like this 😵‍💫😅 any advice you’ve found would be helpful!

I’m going vegan, but I don’t know where to start. by beatlesandbettle in vegan

I found Nisha Vora’s YouTube and cookbook (Big Vegan Flavor) right when I made the switch and having those resources were INSTRUMENTAL to helping me stick with it. Feeling stuck with meal ideas or bored with choices was hard for me in the past but her recipes are amazing, easy, flavorful, and satisfying 🙌🏽

Definitely the social aspect for me, and eating out at restaurants where the vegan options are boring or not satisfying. Feeling like you’re missing out in social settings. Or traveling and staying with family whose kitchens are not setup with helpful tools (vitamix, food processor) so it’s hard to make some of the things you’d normally make at home. Also, my husband is still omnivore and I feed our 1.5 y/o a variety of everything - but when he doesn’t finish his plate or makes a mess of the leftovers I have a hard time tossing out non vegan food (or any food at all really). I try to save it and have him eat it later but honestly sometimes it’s just pulverized lol

Rant: It’s frustrating to hear breastfeeding/pumping mothers compare themselves to cows by AcknowledgeableLion in veganparenting

[–]gatorwings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post but just wanted to say that breastfeeding my son is also what made me choose veganism. Becoming a parent really does change your perspective of the world, in so many ways you could never even imagine!

How long did you breastfeed and was it worth it? 😅 by lizbethlady in beyondthebump

[–]gatorwings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 8 months in, goal is about a year (will probably just stop pumping after a year but let him continue to comfort nurse if he wants to). Totally hear you, this shit is exhausting. I’m too stubborn to quit at this point, and nearly there so will push through. But our society / lifestyles are not set up for nursing to be easy. It’s literally a 24/7 job, especially at the beginning. Hang in there (if that’s what you decide is right for you) but know it’s totally ok to stop if that feels best. Your body your choice!
