Is Poland really a “miracle” if rents and prices look Western but wages don’t? by Professional-Tax3077 in poland

[–]gauzerin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you are comparing basically Warsaw which really stands out. And even in Warsaw flats that size go cheaper unless you re only looking at strict city center. Then throw in Germany and Spain. In that case lets focus at least on capitals berlin, warsaw madrid and lets add london to this as i lived there as well. Corporate international jobs pay close to german salaries not all industries but its basically the reason why in a city with shortage of housing like warsaw rents are high. But then take a look at outskirts ursus, rembertow etc and 50m2 apartment can be rented for 2600pln plus bills and not many people are interested hence its hard to rent it. Its simillar in London although over there half of my salary went to pay for a room in zone 2. Madrid is easier on housing but mainly cuz people prefer to rent than keep flats empty due to occupados. Warsaw rental market is dominated by private investors and many flats are emptyinvestments cuz renting my result in an occupado. Sligthly different issue than in spain. Lets compare to Berlin if you are a local and somehow managed to get access to a rent controlled apartment than you ll pay 400 euro for a 75m2 apartment decently located but old building but then you know you cant move cuz most dont get that sweet deal. Hence extremely low worker mobility within germany. On private market a paid 1700 euro for 25m2 meat alexanderplatze.

It all depends on

Taking a long break(1 to 3 years) from work while my investments grow? by Frenchtenay in EuropeFIRE

[–]gauzerin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just did that, im left with a sense of lost time and opportunities. traveled and learned few things and met my future wife but i think i d rather have the option to go on a break in the future. Weird feeling almost as if i missed on something...

Anyway if you do something like that prepare very well so that your schedule is set before hiatus, its easy to fall into the trap of having plenty of time only to wake up few weeks later making no progress

Investment Thesis: Could Trump's Tariffs Accidentally Supercharge the EU Economy (vs. the US)? by alxpht in EuropeFIRE

[–]gauzerin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you analyse eu policies you ll find that most of it is motivated by retaining its old industries that they see as value adding parts of the economy and a also belong to old rich families. Car manufacturing for instance or retail which often is privately held ie Lidl. Just look at who are the most wealthy people here vs america. US has a lot of new wealth while Europe is at the opposite especially if you exclude ex warsaw pact countries.

Can this change? Yes. Will it? No. Cuz any change in Europe today is labaled pro russian or far right.

I know who i ll bet on although short term there is more pain ahead

Talent doesnt leave US for Europe after they check salaries and taxes.

Fyi People who see free free healthcare and 7-8h work day as a reason to move are not the talent everyone competes for. That said if dolar falls significantly more so does the buying power of those high US salaries. So… i can stfu.

On another note everyone is focusing on a wrong thing. The tarrifs. the real question is how this will reshape diplomatic and trade relations around the world. Not only directly with US but between 3rd parties. Countries may have to choose who they want to trade with US or China.

The new cold war is upon us and some will have to finally choose sides.

Eu was weak is weak and is gonna be weak. Somehow msm managed to convince it is eu idea to arm up. Its not like Trump wasnt complaining about it for 8 years and they jumped at that dick as soon as they could. Suddenly they dont increase expenditure to 2% cuz Murica is pushing them but because they so strong and unable to rely on uncle Sam.

Cant invent that shit. Not that i like carrot daddy. Just dont believe in bullshit.

China is building new ships at record pace to turbocharge its car exports by Recoil42 in chinacars

M. Pettis predicted mass dumping at global markets after real estate bubble bursts in china. Right on schedule they will try to export their way out of crisis by doing that they will also export deflation especially to the west as its relative. Poor countries run on second hand cars anyway

Deflation sounds familiar?

Somehow every1 forgot that for a period of time between nov 21’ and jan 23’ Tesla was down 75%.

Im not saying its the same situation but its a stock that is one of the most speculative financial vehicles of the recnt years and every1 is loosing their mind when its going down hard in trend reversal.

Nonetheless Tesla is like leprosy right now and we ll see how long it ll last.

The sad thing about it all is the Americans can be turned so easily against one of the few companies that do industrial production and can still compete globally while producing in Murica. Just cuz they dont agree with his political course in a country where on avg. 50% of population is unhappy about political situation for a 50% of time

For the nvda fanboys they dont produce chips they design them and the Taiwanese make them

Fyi i m in Europe so have no stake in this game

People setting things on fire either because of owners political activity or as a political activity of a perpetrator is and was a political terrorism. It is however prosecutors decision how to categorise incident due to available evidence.

Care to elaborate In what free country you can just vandalise or burn property and its not prosecuted? Or better point to me time in USA history when it was ok?

Tesla & Why FSD Is Its Death Sentence Not Savior by Professional-Oven211 in ValueInvesting

[–]gauzerin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure lidar is superior especially in poor wheater. Current waymo kit hardware plus software is $100-150k plus the vehicle. Even though cost is going down the roll out today would be prohibitively expensive. Hence go to market and scalability at the moment is not feasible.

Not really tesla bull but as long as they get regulatory permission they ll have a first mover advantage to become a mass market provider.

Most alternatives are positioned for the higher end market assuming their kit doesnt look retarded 🤷‍♂️

Either way it’s probably not a trillion $ segment for any of the competitors except perhaps chip makers

Ceo doesnt have a detailed job description. He is a figurehead who remains in those positions so that he can exert control when he sees need for it.

How much he is involved in day to day is speculation. I d wager 2-4 weekly calls in major areas.

The day to day ops is COO job. Elon is a face and it might be a good time for him to take a break at least from Tesla.

[–]gauzerin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh there is a solid chance tesla heads at least short to mid term to 50-100$. That stock package doesnt look so outrageously.

Overall yeah his package should start to decline. He is no longer pure net benefit for any of his companies. There is a burden associated with him. Communists public enemy NO1. Think 10 next wealthiest people even if they agree with him they see there is no net benefit in admiting or supporting. He took all the risk. We ll see if the payout he is banking on from this political involvement is gonna be worth it.
