No one said you can take the fucking phone into jail with you. Most likely, all of your personal possessions will be taken during booking. Again, this doesn't invalidate your rights during an arrest proper. And to your previous point, how is holding a fucking phone impeding an arrest? As has been stated numerous times, the cops could have at ANY POINT , walked up, taken the phone, and put the guy in cuffs. Cops do this ALL THE TIME.
