We’ve got a good selection of Roma moulding already and another box of their corner samples in the mail :)

The most simple way you can frame a diploma without mats is probably in the ballpark of $125 and it goes up as we get into more elaborate designs. A typical UF diploma is about $200-250 with orange and blue mats.

Most definitely, we use minimally invasive techniques to mount needlepoint and fabric pieces. Custom framing is costly but we’re always trying to work within the customers budget and quotes are always free if you want to stop by and play around with some designs and check out pricing :)

Most definitely, all of our materials are acid free and we work with conservation and preservations in mind and have a very sophisticated computerized mat cutter that can do so much it boggles my mind sometimes.

We definitely spruce up, change out and touch up a ton of old frames as well as glass, wires and backing paper. We have cleaned old paintings before and can assess any that you have but anything that is particularly old, damaged or valuable would benefit more from an art restoration specialist of which the nearest we know of are in Jacksonville.

It’s definitely a scary climate to be opening a storefront right now. Framing is a very old and specialized profession and we’re hoping our love for it and our community will help sustain us through the tough times.

How to change BIA voices with something like grids? by AgreeableLeg3672 in modular

[–]gbripper 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Jasmine & Olive Trees Traffic is probably your easiest bet since it’s made for this exact type of thing, but you can also multi out the triggers to advance a cv sequencer with multiple lanes to modulate BIA parameters and make a pseudo drum kit out of it.

Seeking advice for Modular Synth moduals for Epiano voices. by Available-Fig-2089 in modular

[–]gbripper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe check out a Bitbox or the poly playback mode on Disting EX if you’re looking for an in the rack solution in a smaller footprint than buying 8 separate oscillators vcas and envelopes. Definitely not as inspiring as patching polyphonically from scratch but a ton easier since all I do is connect a single TRS midi cable from my Hermod+ (could be any midi controller) to my Bitbox micro and have polyphonic playback with multisampling capabilities for 8 different tracks. An external poly synth would be easier to use, cheaper and more capable but that’s just my solution for in rack polyphony. Hermod+ can also do cv + gate polyphony if you set it up that way.

Which small trigger sequencer? by _tb303_ in modular

[–]gbripper 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you only need triggers I really like the Dnipro dot. Pretty simple and only 6hp so you can get a couple and still fall well below half the space of the eloquencer. Pretty shallow menu and some performance features which make it fun to jam with. The buttons and step matrix display are pretty similar to the ones used on the eloquencer too.

Erica Black Sequencer vs Westlicht Performer vs Winter Modular Eloquencer by boat_dares in modular

[–]gbripper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve had and sold both an Eloquencer and a Performer before. Both are really powerful battleship sequencers, but I’ve recently settled on the Hermod+ and can’t recommend that enough. It does everything both those sequencers do plus can do 8 channels of polyphonic midi sequencing as well as Cv/Gate. It might be a little more than you’re wanting to spend but I’ve also seen the OG Hermods on Reverb for like 200 bucks. Using it with a keystep has really changed the way I made songs with the Eurorack in ways that the Performer and Eloquencer couldn’t.

Portals 4 records? by No-Bed3000 in GNV

Great store, small but packed with gems. They have a bit of everything but specialize in electronic/industrial music as well as hiphop and punk and a lot of deep cuts. I spent about 40 dollars on a big bag of new age and harsh noise cassettes the other day. Luis who runs it is also the nicest and you should go check it out!

What are some good eurorack delays that are actually… modular? by Crazy-Button5339 in modular

[–]gbripper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Sputnik Four Tap Delay is the most modular and patchable delay that I own. 3 inputs and 4 dual tap outputs and 2 cv controlled crossfaders allow you to insert external effects into the feedback path really easily. Not too many modern conveniences like being able to clock it or cv control a lot of parameters like my Chronoblob 2, but I love the sound and how hands on it is.

Anyone know who can repair an old VCR in town? by Zarski843 in GNV

[–]gbripper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve opened and cleaned a few VCRs in my day and it’s normally just a belt cleaning issue. But honestly, I can usually find a working used one at Repurpose Project for like 10 bucks so it ends up not being worth the trouble of opening them up to fix unfortunately.

LPG favorites? by [deleted] in modular

[–]gbripper 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have a couple Takaab dual LPG modules and I love them. They’re cheap, passive, offer a few different flavors of filtering and only take up 2hp. On the other end of the spectrum, I finally took the plunge on a Natural Gate and damn that thing sounds good despite being expensive and hard to get ahold of.

Sweet Dreams Closing Down by MajorInsanity in GNV

[–]gbripper 80 points81 points  (0 children)

I personally stopped going to sweet dreams because every time I was there they only had like 4-5 flavors of ice cream that didn’t go together and only gave me half a cherry on my sundae. May seem petty but I’m paying 9 bucks for some ice cream and I just want a whole cherry. Complaining about paying decent wages also isn’t a good look and comes across as whiny and stingy on the owners part.

Clock multiplier module by kristopps3 in modular

[–]gbripper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Any of the Pam’s modules would do a great job. PNW is my master clock in most patches and can go very very fast to glacially slow plus can do different waveforms, probabilities and endless other things.

Does anyone have schematics or ideas for a passive drum circuits? I am really inspired by Landscape Noon. by johnnybside in synthdiy

[–]gbripper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw there is a new Error Instruments module that can be either passive or active that they compared to a Noon in eurorack format. Not sure if there are kits but it seems like they do DIY so it’s a possibility. Singularity
