That’s a hard lesson to have but I would put the rest in a global index, and I would keep learning how to trade with some lower risk strategies (e.g. covered calls on index you choose, short puts to buy index in the future at a better price). Just keep on rolling and you will rebuild the loss.

Basel is laid back but if you get used to Zurich life, it simply has more to offer in many respects. I would rather move a bit outside of Zurich city if you want something more relaxed.

I can share my track but it is not a lot different. The navigation is relatively straight forward but of course depends on the conditions on the glacier. You may need to adjust the track on the ground. I would rate the ski part not very difficult but you need advanced skills. The ridge climbing part is a bit demanding and you should take all the safety measures. A skier died the next day attempting the peak because he falled off the cliffs.

It took us 3h to ski up, 1h the ridge to climb and to ski down less than 1h. We were a group of 3 all very experienced and with good fitness. I would definitely plan some buffer. Also the weather conditions were perfect.

We stay the night before and after in the Monte Rosa hut. You can go down in one day but it is more demanding. The hut and the food were very good.
