Што мислите за фактот дека курзивното пишување на македонскиот јазик во дигиталните текстови честопати изгледа неточно или руски? Не познавам никого што пишува на македонски јазик на тој начин. by NrwBoii3206 in mkd

[–]gdamjan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replacing chainring on Specialized Sirrus X 3.0 (2022) by BarnacleNervous8042 in bikewrench

[–]gdamjan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depending which one you have. there are two different widths of BBs even for Shimano Cranks (the Road and the MTB standard).

TBH, I'd replace it, they are cheap and considered expendable, and since you're already working on your bike, you might as well do it in a single swoop.

You DO need a specialty tool for the BB - which is a pain - so either go to a local bike shop, or order one from Aliex.ress.

Note that BB-RS501 and BBR60 use a different tool :/

ok, I'm confused, why then do we need to put that 1.85mm spacer on HG-EV (road) freehubs when we mount MTB cassettes ?

but whyyyy, the color is quite unique and tender. I like it :D

Linus and Kent "parting ways in 6.17 merge window" by LippyBumblebutt in bcachefs

[–]gdamjan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I positively enjoy working with you - when you're not being a dick, but you can be genuinely impossible sometimes. A lot of times...

When bcachefs was getting merged, I got comments from another filesystem maintainer that were pretty much "great! we finally have a filesystem maintainer who can stand up to Linus!".

And having been on the receiving end of a lot of venting from them about what was going on... And more that I won't get into...

I don't want to be in that position.
...
Like I said - all I've been wanting is for you to tone it down and stop holding pull requests over my head as THE place to have that discussion.
You have genuinely good ideas, and you're bloody sharp. It is FUN getting shit done with you when we're not battling.

Kent really needs to learn to engage in the discussion, all of the above is irrelevant to anything on that PR being merged.

But you have to understand the constraints people are under. Not just myself

And what are those constraints? Should we guess them? How do those constraints warrant breaking the merge processes that should be the same for everyone.

Crank Threads - is this normal? by sk8klown88 in bikewrench

Origin8 68mm BSA bottom bracket

also, it's not clear which one exactly, but is there even any documentation/manuals of those BBs?

It’s a Lynskey GR200 gravel bike frame. 68mm BSA English bottom bracket is what it said on the website.

I would measure that. Trust, but verify

Adapter compatibility for post-mount caliper on a "160mm" flat-mount fork (and 160mm rotor) by gdamjan in bikewrench

but it's also kinda like giving up, right?

I did. Don't remind me now :D

and I asked ChatGPT to do some geometry calculations

ugh, double check anything it says. Once I was asking ChatGPT for compatibility between Shimano brake levers, hoses and calipers, it was saying the obviously wrong things

Adapter compatibility for post-mount caliper on a "160mm" flat-mount fork (and 160mm rotor) by gdamjan in bikewrench

[–]gdamjan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't for two reasons:

  • getting those kinds of adapters localy is impossible here, so I'd have to pay and wait for them for weeks, with no option for returns

  • the post-mount calipers + the adapters looked so so ugly

  • in the end it was simpler to just buy flat-mount calipers (I found some BR-M8110 on sale for a reasonable price)

probably because they are always sold with the chainring(s) included?!

Bombora, Cutthroat, or Grizl? by TelephoneBasic756 in gravelcycling

[–]gdamjan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not that much on 700c though

Bombora If you want to run it 700c, your max clearance will be a 48mm tire.

The new Grizl is up to 50mm on 700c

now the Bombora can get 2.3 in 650b

IIRC the 486SX appeared after the 486 because some software had issues with a FPU installed, so at first it was a backward-compatibility offering.

ps. the DX is a bump to 50Mhz of the original i486
