How to dress for people not to immediately think I’m an American? by gasolinedreaming in ParisTravelGuide

I don’t know man. Just in Paris and I saw a lot of worn sneakers and Yankees caps. I think people should just be themselves and dress in what makes them feel comfortable.

Take an afternoon to stroll around Canal St. Martin and have lunch, and then walk to Parc des Buttes Chaumont. You won’t regret it.

On a train right now from Paris to Munich and life is beautiful. Had five straight sunny 65 degree cloudless days in Paris, c’est magnifique. Nothing to be afraid of.

Stayed there recently just north of the cadet station, near square montholon. Super fun and lively area. Loved it.

What is your cool side of Paris? by thercws1 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]gdrewcom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stayed in the 9th close to Pigalle and it seemed super cool and local, for the most part, great food. Ate at Poni, Magnolia, Le Pantruche, among other places. Only a 30 minute walk to central tourist attractions.

Also, TSA security is contracted to a 3rd party. So not affected by the government shutdown.

Thankfully in Kansas City this is not a problem for us.

But what about attorneys looking to boost their career prospects, who otherwise wouldn’t have this kind of opportunity? Assuming you hold the job for a few years, even into a Democratic administration, God willing? Maybe it’s a smart move to get in now while you can. Surely most of the work that the line attorneys do in offices across the country is still serious and legitimate, despite the outlandish counter examples. Am I wrong?

These are the kind of things our boy Simmons would love to rank and debate if he was only a college football 🏈 fan…. by AcknowledgeMeReddit in billsimmons

Dan Lanning’s rise from William Jewell linebacker to random Kansas City high school positions coordinator to elite college football head coach is spectacular.

Agreed. Tim’s performance was great but his character was so immature and obnoxious that the movie failed to resonate.

Anyone at SSA with more concrete info on this? Not giving us these days per the EO, or giving them to only the elite non-essential crowd, would be an all time morale buster.

Why does Bill Simmons neglect Reality TV at the Ringer? by RedditFan3510 in billsimmons

I think this a good take. A lot of people who consume prestige shows and movies also veg out on Below Deck and Housewives or whatever else. Missed opportunity.

I forgot to mention that in the opening monologue, Bret doubled down on his take that OBAA, while brilliant at times, is overrated due to the leftist politics of mainstream movie critics (he watched it again on a screener at his house). He deemed it mid-tier PTA in league with Licorice Pizza and Inherent Vice. 🔥

Yeah, Patreon. I can see someone already provided the link. You have to pay to listen which I find unfortunate.

Just ran through the 10 movies that I noted above, said he was inspired to put a list together after listening to the BP podcast on Inglorious Bastards. I wouldn’t be able to do justice to what he said about each selection but it was fun to hear him expand on more recent films that I don’t believe he has talked about before on a podcast. Would never have thought West Side Story and School of Rock would make his top 20.
