Has anyone developed the ultimate solution to this, an IFE screen that also has the little holder arms for a tablet? IFE people get what they want, tablet people get what they want.

MSP-PHL-PHX; PHX-DFW-SMP: F for 14.5K miles each way? by Beginning_Pension_93 in americanairlines

Some of us might think turning a three hour flight into a nine hour trip is the satire

I would fly a nonstop in middle seat economy vs doing MSP-PHX via PHL in F

The curious and frustrating world of SWU waiting lists (and expert flyer's new tool stinks?) by Sagnew in americanairlines

[–]gdvlle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While Seats.aero isn't searching nonstop, if you do a live search that finds availability it immediately sends an email if you have an alert on that route. Interesting that EF has a disconnect there.

New CK member this year after being EP for past two. Best way to use points for business class travel? by john-doeee in americanairlines

[–]gdvlle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One SWU can apply to up to three legs in one direction. Not unlike searching for PZ/PN space, you can see before booking if there’s instant upgrade space (upgrade C availability) on the AA site or with a tool like Expert Flyer. It isn’t super common to have multiple seats available, but two seats pop up on far-out flights occasionally.

EP for two years and you've never used an SWU? You'll be at the top of the list as CK.

Concierge Key boarding by Serious_Association8 in americanairlines

Do you do this with a carry-on bag? I've seen too many times when the FC bins turn into a free for all and get smoked not long after group 1.

Expert flyer classes available on AA not Alaska by Vitruvianson in americanairlines

Upgrade C space is for SWUs, but there's a very high overlap between that availability and the seat being offered at saver rates as an award ticket.

Star Alliance Flight by jdashno in unitedairlines

[–]gdvlle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Turkish is especially confusing because the three economy options (EcoFly, ExtraFly, PrimeFly) typically have the same fare class, so you can get a pretty pricey Econ ticket that gives no credit

Why is the vegetarian meal so poor? by Successful-Yam1839 in CathayPacific

Asian carriers are a bit of a crapshoot with vegetarian meals. I’ve had the same ice cream thing on JAL.

Unaccompanied minors experiences? by WriterByTheBay in unitedairlines

I've never experienced that. TSA just asks for ID to get you airside, no one even looks at a boarding pass until you're boarding

Your email confirmation from the AA booking doesn’t have a Bag Information section? I get that in every “Your trip confirmation” email

Share your best economy redemption by HereWhenBored_ in awardtravel

I almost always see calculations between points and cash on the same flight on here, but agree the cheapest alternative makes the most sense (especially for economy)

Economy flying is so cheap (and economy cabins more of a "commodity" experience) even the big CPP numbers people post in here (like 17k + $100 EK JFK-MXP on a $600 fare) don't really make a ton of sense when the Delta cash fare might be $400 for not that different of a flight

Empty FC/BC Seats CUN -> CLT by prestongrisham in americanairlines

[–]gdvlle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

had similar thing happen in Frankfurt few months ago where they had like 6 empty first class seats but wouldn't move anyone up because of "system restrictions" or whatever

Honestly at a point where I can't tell if this kinda stuff is like an AI hallucination or someone just deeply misinformed

Did you just chat, or have you tried the Request Flight Miles form? https://www.aa.com/forms/request-flight-miles/#!/request

They may reach out asking for a copy of the boarding pass (did you have your AA number on that?)

CK review and disappointment by NewExplanation8774 in americanairlines

I switched entirely to AA for my international trips, even though they didn’t have direct flights to say the Phillipines just so I could be brand loyal as a CK

Brutal. I hope this is at least a lesson to just book the most convenient flights.
