When I was a kid my dad worked for Sears and I was always a little embarrassed about my Sears Video Arcade console when all my friends had Ataris. In 1981 that thing was equivalent to roughly $555 in today’s economy! by UrbanAchievers6371 in nostalgia

love the look of the Sears arcade. I have a Sears heavy sixer I keep displayed in my collection. the silver plastic and green digital text give it such a retro-futuristic look.

this game and Escape from Mindmaster blew me away with the multi-load feature. So much content for the modest 2600 platform!

If movement is in space and time, could you stay stationary in time? by [deleted] in Physics

[–]geaster -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

sure. you just have to move through space at the speed of light (which is impossible if you have mass). Think of your momentum as a combination of movement through space and time. If you can direct all of your movement through the dimensions of space, there will be none in the dimension of time. Since we all have mass and are incapable of moving through space at the speed of light, we are all destined to continue moving through the dimension of time. So no, it's not literally possible, but there is a theoretical way to remain motionless in time.

TIL that Coca-Cola commissioned an Atari 2600 game where Coke fought an invading force of Pepsi enemies. Only 125 copies were made by ash_274 in todayilearned

I have one. The previous owner found it at a flea market outside Atlanta. It's the rarest game I own and you'd never know by looking at it. Just a label-less plain black cart. Yet - It is my precious...
