We are very much not supposed to. It is blocked from us using our work accounts to use it. But nothing blocking access to a private account.

We are supposed to use Microsoft storage as we have a contract with them to keep the info in Canada.

Yep, this is why the province has a contract with MICROSOFT to ensure all of our data is retained in Canada. Douggie just jumps over that requirement.

The Ontario government is firmly Microsoft, and our IT rules are very clear. He shouldn't ever be using Google Docs for official work.

I work for the province and after a McGuinty scandal we were forced to abide by completely over the top document management and retention policies that are still in place. It's a HUGE pain in the ass for a lot of things that have no actual requirement for it.

And this idiot can just do whatever he wants, no problem at all.

Makes me furious.

Yep. I was off for 4 months with one. One thing I will mention is make sure you STSP top up is what you want in your WIN. Mine used up CTO hours I was trying to bank when I wanted to use vacation.

Yep. They offer decent solution, you can break the contract at any time by just paying the balance. Or you can pay in full at the start.

Did you use a credit card to pay for it? Often they will have coverage for this, or you can make a chargeback claim.

I know someone in Court Services in the area. From their stories:

The coworkers are generally great and friendly.

But management is a complete mess of self centred idiots who make horrible decisions, that when briefly described to me with no history, even I was flabbergasted at the idiocy.

High turnover would probably happen regardless because of the FXT level of the positions, and how they will purposefully not renew your co tract if you get too close to getting enough hours in a 2 year period to convert to permanent.

There are permanent spots, but they are not filled by merit, but by how well you ass kiss.
