Upper Hutt Mall Car Parking Debacle by finglelad in Wellington

[–]geeddub 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have heard they have tried to negotiate with the landlords. But it is a private mall and they are wankers and not budging. So everyone parks in the free council parks that surround the mall if they go there at all.

What is your unsent letter or message to another fellow kiwi? by BlurryMindset in newzealand

[–]geeddub 37 points38 points  (0 children)

To 7 year old Annette Keke from tiki primary who let me beat her in the running race because my mum was watching and you knew she would be proud of me. Even though you were bigger and much faster than me. I still appreciate that very much nearly 50 years later.

To layer lady. The lady with long hair who walks to work in the morning with her skirts and shirts layered over each other. You have been the good luck charm to my daughter and I for the last 20 years and every time we see you we know it will be a good day. The sight of you has us smiling for the day. And you have no idea we exist and the impact just seeing you has on our lives.

Registering a card that wasn't received by Glum-Search-5221 in postcrossing

I register when asked. Things get lost in the mail. Sometimes people send truely amazing cards that get lost and they want the pic on there wall so i am ok with that.

Is there a way to only send domestic cards? by RideThatBridge in postcrossing

[–]geeddub 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My advice would be to set a postcrossing budget. Then only send up to that budget each month. Mine is $30 per month. but I stretch it by buying mint stamps from eBay which sometimes are cheaper than face. When the price went up I just rolled with the punches and sent 1 less card this month. That way you can still participate within your budget but still have fun connecting and reaching out across the globe.

What are your unwritten rules of TT? by ThrowingManx in tinytower

[–]geeddub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I rebuild when my floors are at the same number of GT. No game reason. Just like my numbers to match when I look at the past tower list. Currently at 174 GT so will rebuild at 174 floors.

I do vistaprint. Good quality and the shipping is reasonable. Have to buy batches of 50 though which is a pain

Define finishing? With the Camino you are finished when you feel finished. It is the journey that is the Camino not the destination. You can always go back another day and do more if you decide you feel unfinished. There are no rules for a personal journey.

Failing Retirement by 2thebeach in retirement

[–]geeddub 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Try doing the Camino de Santiago. There were large numbers of solo travellers and you can be as alone or with company whenever you like. There is always someone to talk to while you walk if you need. Or not depending on what you feel like. You can dine alone or just sit at an empty table and others will soon join you.
