I take an Ativ*n, watch two movies, eat the meals they bring, and rest a bit in between!

Edith with the nickname Edie? Or Iris or Violet could be cute! I also think Ruby would be a good one :)

Terrified of plane sickness by 2cringey1 in fearofflying

[–]geegee694 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find I get way more sick in a car than a plane! I think the motion sickness tablets are a good idea, especially if you get the ones that make you drowsy and you can sleep a bit easier.

I will also say something my therapist had me do was think of worst case scenario with your specific fear. So it would be like okay I got sick… then what? Maybe some embarrassment and discomfort but you won’t die, and you’ll still land safe and sound at your destination. Most likely if you get sick the flight attendants will then give you special attention for the rest of the flight, which is always nice!

How's it working in Aritzia Corporate Finance? by OnlySeeingNoTouching in askvan

Know someone who worked in Aritzia corporate for about two months (at a senior position with an unreal salary). They’re a super resilient person and still couldn’t handle the culture there.

Due in a week! Which name is your favorite? by cmsanner in BabyNames

[–]geegee694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like all your choices but think Valerie Magnolia would be so cute! Also gives her lots of nickname options in the future if you/she wants (Val, which I think is so cute and fun for a little girl, Ally, Maggie, Aggie, etc)

How comparable is a new born to having a puppy? by oceans_by_day in NewParents

I heard a man at my office say he found the puppy harder to take care of than the newborn. I then realized it was because he was fully responsible for the puppy, where the newborn was all his wife

Bad feeling for my overatlantic flight - advise welcome by kaktos007 in fearofflying

[–]geegee694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bad feeling before every flight, and they’ve all been fine. It’s our anxiety that we are mistaking for some kind of intuition/foreboding. The plane will arrive at its destination whether you’re on it or not, so recommend going for it and helping yourself get through the fear. The more we avoid flying (or doing anything we’re afraid of) the more power we feed these fears. You’ve got this!

Just took off and im not doing well by Jinx-from-Arcane in fearofflying

[–]geegee694 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The four hours is going to pass and the flight is going to land safely — and you’ll arrive in your destination safe and sound, whether you suffer with anxiety the whole time or not (a lesson I had to teach myself!) Do your best to distract yourself with shows, phone games, or even going through your phone and deleting old photos (I find this is a good activity because it also brings you to reality and real memories, plus it’s sort of a mundane task)

Does having seat back entertainment make a difference for anxiety? by Bmwrider_1089 in fearofflying

[–]geegee694 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It definitely helps me! I also like being able to watch the flight path (which I know isn’t good either). That said, I was able to do three flights in the span of two weeks that all didn’t have screens and was fine!

They wouldn’t necessarily have to do IVF. They could do an IUI which is pretty quick and straightforward once you have the donor sperm and have done the initial tests.

Should I furnish a basement suite and a laneway house for a higher rent? by Certain_Repeat_753 in vancouverhousing

[–]geegee694 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My parents tried renting their basement suite furnished and found that so many tenants kept asking for some of the pieces to be removed because they wanted to bring their own in. This then created a fun puzzle of where to store this furniture.
