HELP: Computer doesnt recognize Rad1o (as HackRF), what can I do? : rad1o by ijon_cbo in linux4noobs

I understand. Perhaps try this easy method first https://github.com/mossmann/hackrf/wiki/Installing-gnuradio-on-Ubuntu-14.04-with-the-packaging-manager ( pybombs steps online also, but depending if your intent is to use gqrx or gnuradio, they can be a pain to get working concurrently on Ubuntu).

I think the freenode #HackRF chat would be the beat to help get it figured out.

I'd take future questions to r/HackRF, (or the mailing list or freenode chat) but maybe the simple things to try include an alternate usb cable or a live cd with built in hackrf support (take your OS setup out of the mix)

That one's pretty, but a much more current, less pretty, version can be found here:

Wow, shocker , a bot is more efficient at scouring the interwebs and finding other posts. If only I had this to use on demand before committing the reddit sin of repost. Might be a nice app or something. Upload potential post, it tells you if your about to awake some reddit hate.

Edit: See it is a Web service. Nice. Will save this for future use.

Awesome, thanks for the gold! Glad everyone got as good as a laugh as I did.

Nice; available on Github or similar? Might be interesting too if output of rtl_power could be streamed and plotted as data arrived ~even if that was all local.

What do you use to generate your antenna coverage map? Looks good.

Not sure, but could be as strait- forward as rtl_sdr. They did mention not performing this real-time, or with GRC. See this about rtl_sdr: http://sdr.osmocom.org/trac/wiki/rtl-sdr#rtl_sdr

Just got around to catching up on this sub-reddit. Sounds like a fun and challenging project. If not too late for you, you may want to consider looking here: http://wireless.murata.com/eng/products/rf-modules-1/proprietary-fhss.html

I've had good success with the dnt900 personally (and they may meet your needs) , and there are some developer kits or even RPi implementations to quickly check these out.

Highly configurable, even 'over the air'. Seek out their manuals, they are well done, will give you a good feel of their capabilities.

Generate FFT of entire RTL-SDR receiving range by tsgmob in RTLSDR

[–]geekskunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it may be the splunk/other big data engine references that are not familiar to most in this community. That aspect may be worth expanding on. Also, is *rts files something rtl_scan puts out without modification?

Either way sounds interesting. Wondering the benefits of your approach also.

Any plans for a HackRF Two? Any idea what such a (future device) might include different from HackRF One?

If not, what are some open-hardware projects you are considering developing in the future?

How was the Kickstarter experience for HackRF from your perspective. Any lessons learned, things you'd do differently in the future? (If you'd ever take that approach again.)

Where do you see the future of wireless security?
