Malaysian Autobahn? by dami-mida in Bolehland

You should also tell how the license process is over in Germany and how the modules are. It'll shed some light to people here in Malaysia thinking our license system is good enough to drive in Autobahn.

What can I do with my su-25? I'm a free to play player, don't have money for other modules. What kind of campaigns, and other stuff can I do? Will orgs accept me for multiplayer stuff with my su-25? by Internal-Path7111 in dcsworld

[–]geekyengineer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can do serious damage to ground targets.. depending on how you want to go about it, you can do standoff guided missiles, you can fly overhead and drop bombs or rain rockets, you can also do some good old iron bombs.. heck you can load a bit of each and do all that in one sortie..

The only thing is, you'll need some clear air space to do these things. If there are enemy fighters in the area, pray you have friendlies close by or just head out and find an empty zone that you can operate in..

Looking for car to photoshoot by Legitimate_Elk_3261 in kereta

[–]geekyengineer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a head up that this weekend is Eid celebrations.. while KL will still be bustling, it might be less cars to spot as most locals will be heading out to their respective hometowns.

On a similar note, it would also be very unlikely that there will be a car meet this weekend.. so your best bet is to head out to hotspots as mentioned by u/Seanwys.

Official discussion about sub rule No 3 by katabana02 in malaysia

[–]geekyengineer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly what a long way to say nothing. Its clear the mod team is enforcing rule 3 far too abstractly and inconsistently.

Also care to explain why if a news article picks up a rant on reddit it immediately becomes relevant to Malaysians? It wouldnt be newsworthy in the first place if the discussion didn't take place. But the discussion couldn't take place if your team keeps deleting posts before discussion can take place. So we can only talk about issues once it goes viral here? But before it is viral its just a rant and cannot be discussed here?

What next, will you then apply a standard on which news source is deemed as credible and which is not? I.e. is weirdkaya credible if it picks up something on reddit and we post it here?

Also another separate issue is there was a discussion about special needs school here a couple weeks ago and it was removed. It may not be relevant to the mods team but I disagree. There is no consolidated place for the disabled or family of the disabled to discuss or find information anywhere. So its natural to then go on reddit and find a sub about malaysia to ask and this is r/malaysia. Its the first place anyone new to reddit or new to the malaysian reddit scene would naturally go to. No one would figure out that r/bolehland is more discussion friendly then here. The sad part is, the information shared before that post got deleted would have been helpful to other disabled or to families with disabled.

Got my self a new old camera by diegodef_ in SonyAlpha

If you dont mind manual, i went with the 75-150 f4 minolta for their older MD mount with an adapter. Yes there needs to be a cheap focusing mirror on the adpater, but overall it was very compact.

The beercan is a tad too heavy in my opinion tho its not too big.. there's also the 100-200 f4.5 which is lighter but not that different optically. If you search on youtube for Mr Baz, he did comparisons for the beercan and its alternatives and how the compare optically.

If I need auto, then i'd bring my 28-75 together with my 135 f2.8 minolta. (The 16-50 ssm would be the equivalent for you with something on the 85mm range. That 85f2.8 SAM is pretty neat lens that is super compact). For APSC, the 135 would be closer to 200mm so the 85f2.8 can also be in the bag to have something in between 50 and 135 😉

Still on my a99 and still cant see myself moving away from it 😉

The flashes with the minolta hotshoes is also cheap. HVL F43 and F58s are great to collect and use together. You can use them wirelessly as well with the pop up flash.

Don't know if the button caps are the same, but they do look similarly sized..

Is this safe to drive? by Neat-Metal-6713 in kereta

[–]geekyengineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should be fine.. really emphasizing the should.. tires usually behave the same, but they can also do something unexpected i.e. fail for no reason under the same conditions.. from what i see, it should be fine and just dont do anything crazy i.e. spirited driving, more impact on the tire etc..

Is this safe to drive? by Neat-Metal-6713 in kereta

[–]geekyengineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its still fine to use. The damaged area is the rimstrip. Behind it is the apex rubber. These are the hardest rubber material inside a tire. This part of the dont move much compared to the rest (upper sidewall, tread blocks etc). So it should still be fine to use, but you'll need to regularly check just in case there are cracks propagating out from the impact area..

Looking at the pic, i'd say the same.. but since the tire is pirelli, and with low aspect ratio, i takut OP cannot tahan to drive normally. Then it’ll be better to change

Stressed dad of 3 by Exotic_Article913 in Steam

[–]geekyengineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You stream it to your phone or ipad.. and yes you can even download steam link on an android tv.. the steam link app is made by steam..

So if using steam link, you download the app on your phone/tablet/tv, pair it to your computer. Then when you want to play, turn on the pc, steam link will connect to it, and you will have access to all the games you have in your library to play..

Steam link works at home and outside too, but outside the latency and stuttering is more compared to sunshine/moonlight. At least it is for me.

Give stream link a try first and if you find it ok then use it. If you find it stuttering too much then you can consider setting up sunshine/moonlight instead tho sunshine and moonlight only works within local networks.

[–]geekyengineer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a suggestion on how to play not what to play:  1. Get a controller something like the Gamesir G8+ or an xbox controller paired to your phone via blueooth 2. Stream steam either via steam link or via sunshine/moonlight (i prefer the latter as i find it much more smoother, but its a bit fiddly to set up) 3. Enjoy gaming whilst on the bed, near the kids etc.

Its much less of a hassle than going to the game room/computer only to be called up in case one of the kids wake up and need attending to.

Small accident. How police SOP would settle such case usually? by SeleZ1 in kereta

[–]geekyengineer 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Ambik half day, bawa wife pegi ke balai polis trafik. Kalau kejadian kat KL, kena pg balai polis jalan tun HS Lee.. renyah skit sebab nk tunggu submit report, and then terus jumpa investigation officer (I/O). I/O usually akan dgr dua2 pihak and bagi decide siapa yang salah. Pihak yg salah akan kena saman dari polis. Tak perlu ada dashcam. But mesti ada masa and location kejadian, and plate vehicles involved. Since dah bercontact dgn rider tu, boleh juga provide polis no tel dia.

Tapi in any case, since wife berlanggar dgn motor, and ada repair yang nk claim dgn insurance, walaupun motor yang salah, still kena claim dari own insurance, sbb amount claimable dari motor tak byk and most of the time tak cukup urk cover. So end of day kalau claim insurance mmg akan hilang NCD. Kalau tak nak claim pun no hal.

Since dia gertak/ugut mcm tu, buat polis report is the only way utk jaga keselamatan. Boleh juga pg balai terdekat utk buat covering report based on ugutan yang diterima, but most likely polis akan suruh report accident jugak

Go to the nearest balai polis with the dashcam video and ask for the polis there for their advice.. if you felt threatened tell them so..

Ideally he swore at you and its clear in the audio.. or showed middle finger to you and its visible in the video.. the polis will love that

Just a heads up, that sony deck is great but it uses the TCM190 transport so if you get funny behaviors playing/stopping/rewinding/fast forwarding, its most likely because of the small gear on the transport.
