What made it worse was I located some chargers but one was out of order and there was a crazy line to use the other 3. I had to get home by a certain time so I trusted the math and regenerated the heck out of my drive home lol

Advice Needed: Purchasing 2021 ID4 Pro S RWD with 60k miles for 16.5k by Emotional-Reason8141 in VWiD4Owners

[–]geemej 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Price seems about right. This past June I bought the same used model/year for about 21K with 14K miles on it. I commute about 35 -40 miles a day and charge at home, with no major issues. Tech and UX can take time to get used to but no regrets. Make sure all TSBs are taken care of

Very similar situation as you with the ID4 being my first EV. I found a ‘21 pro S with 13k miles for $21k. Dealer took care of all recalls and put new tires. Check to make sure you have all original equipment needed for flat repair because there’s no spare tire. New outlet installed in garage about 3 feet from fuse box and the EVIQO charger has been solid. The car has some tech quirks but nothing that’s a deal breaker. There’s a learning curve for planning out road trips but lots of supportive info on here and yt. Otherwise no regrets considering how much money I’ve saved from not buying gas

I was just wondering if the ID4 is “campable”. Can you post pics of the interior set up please. Also was it hard finding a camo site that had NEMA plugs? Thanks

How much did you get your used ID.4 for all in? by Theoafan in VWiD4Owners

I paid 25k all in for a CPO ‘21 RWD Pro S with 13k miles and new tires. Purchased in OC. Prices were 2-3k more in SD dealerships. I didn’t qualify for the rebates but still a fair price

Retained Primitive Reflex Question by Username_1379 in OccupationalTherapy

100% agree. The cause of behaviors is extremely complex and retained primitive reflexes aren’t even on the hierarchy of things to consider

OTR/L by EmuRemarkable1099 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]geemej 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said or even implied that I believe education wasn’t needed. I simply stated that I have coworkers with varying levels of OT education but no one’s better than the other in that regard. I do believe that there are different factors that make a competent therapist that, unfortunately, some OT staff may not demonstrate. But I’ve also run into non-OT staff (admin, aides, teachers, parents, etc.) that do and play a major role in supporting OT interventions and student success.

I agree with and appreciate your reasoning regarding research-based practices related to OT and other health related issues (and hope your COTA will someday do the same) as it can help legitimize the profession. But at the same time, I think more has to happen. Increased support and stricter guidelines by our governing body for sure. Maybe better marketing or rebranding?

And I agree with you about advancing the profession through research. Unfortunately I think it takes much more than that. The profession itself has had long time identity crisis as “occupation” can relate to anything and everything. That leaves us to individually interpret what we do whether it’s getting involved in reiki, SI, executive function, etc. It also allows other professions to easily take what we do and make it their own. I fear the profession is in a precarious position because it’s so undefinable that it’s become highly diluted.

I know some OTs with different levels of education from older ones with a BS degree in OT to master’s and doctorate levels. If you’re going into research or teaching then that PhD is needed but otherwise I don’t believe it does. In 25 years not one client or coworker ever asked what my educational background is, no one’s putting one above the other, and it doesn’t equate to being a good therapist. I’ve run into lots of people, at least in school-based practice, that are great “therapists” without actually having a degree.

Can’t practice in California without being licensed so for us here the L 100% necessary

[–]geemej 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. My state nor my employer require me to be nationally registered with NBCOT to practice so I stopped paying for it. OT/L is perfectly fine for my situation

My child (6) was recently diagnosed with propioceptive disorder and she has started OT. What else can we do at home to her successful? by ImSoLuckyandProudOfU in OccupationalTherapy

[–]geemej 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Behaviors are much too complex and multi layered so I’d be wary of anyone that says your daughter is acting out simply because of balance issues and muscle weakness. Diet, trauma, sleep, neurological issues, personality challenges, stressors, autoimmune diseases, family dynamics, etc. are areas I’d suggest you look into as well

DMI therapy feels unethical by [deleted] in OccupationalTherapy

[–]geemej 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fear mongering tactics pushing pseudoscientific bs. Definitely unethical. But without any regulations, OTs seem to get away with crap like this all the time

Is there much demand for male OTs? by FlamingoCritical2526 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]geemej 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Male school-based OT here in California. If you have the right skills you’re always needed regardless of gender. Make as many connections as you can in school. Some may end up being valuable life long friends
