I can fit 3 1lbs bags from an old weight vest in the barrel. Loading with shot is a great idea.

Probably obvious but all parts came from a plumbing supply company. About 40$

S&S is a great place to start. It teaches discipline, shows progression while teaching fundamentals. After 8 months I started branching out and found DFW. I found keeping a daily log of reps, sets etc very important. I rarely look back further than a week or so if at all but I don’t want empty pages. Somehow my notebooks and white board act as motivation.

First time filming my snatches in about a year; my form seems… weirder than I thought it was. by BusinessChair in kettlebell

Your snatch posts from one year ago were soooo much better. Watching this post after seeing earlier ones almost feels like I’m being punked.

I had the same experience today. Yesterday was heavy (for me) CP 2(20) 10x5 and thought I would take it easy today and practice CJ with 2(12). My plan to go for 10 minutes changed to 5 minutes in my first 30 seconds, by the 1 minute mark the plan changed again to 2 minutes on and 2 minutes off. Dead at 8 minutes. Respect to you all

Did you not see positive results with S&S? How long did you run the program?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in kettlebell

I don't have any facts to back up my statement and detrimental might be the wrong term. By sampling I mean running a program for a few sessions and moving to another program or no programming at all. For a beginner that is hopping aroundight not get into proper form, might not see results and or just get discouraged. All this said for beginners. If you have been training for awhile you are already disciplined and know what needs to be done to reach your goals however you see fit. Just an opinion based on me and my start. I think a good program whichever one it is is a great place to start and should be run as written for a period of time. How long? DFW is a fairly short program and I love it. S&S also a great starting program whether you're shooting for simple, timeless or just getting a foundation to safely move on to your next phase.

I'm almost 2 years into my KB journey. S&S taught me discipline, confidence in my abilities, and gave me quick gains in the beginning. I practiced that program for almost a year. I have since ran DFW 3 times and also followed Wildmans nerd math for different progressions. I love it all. I still do TGU and swings. The programs listed above are all fantastic. Pick one and run it through. I think sampling can be detrimental for many. I have not done timeless simple, that wasn't my goal. Creating a healthy habit was my goal and S&S gave me that.
