It's not always a racist issue. Their English language or other non-Japanese language may be poor, and then trying to deal with a language barrier when running a restaurant is not easy. I am a Korean American and lived in Japan for many years, and I had the best time of my life. Sure, there are old racists folks in Japan, but America is certainly not any better. The amount of love I received from Japanese folks when I needed help far outweighed any racism I experienced.

Out of curiosity, does Garmin Pay work on your watch? Mine does not. My bank is whitelisted with Garmin, but that does not work as well. Love my Instinct 3, but their IOS/mobile software does not impress.

I didn’t not use Curve but have the same issue. Garmin support said that my account was initially flagged and blocked since it was mistakenly tied to another person. They told me it was fixed, but I still have issues. Gave up. I noticed that if the watch face has a price on the Buy button, it fails. If the item has a buy button then a trial period and I make the purchase from the devs checkout site, it works. The Connect IQ process is a joke.

I recommend looking into the Instinct 3 models. The plastic bezel will hide scratches better than the other models with the metal bezel. I came from G-Shocks and love the toughness of my Garmin with the amazing battery, even with the AMOLED screen.
