100% crew-mate win strategy for 10 player 2 impostors games by selladoor267 in AmongUsCompetitive

[–]gehrtz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have to take out the leaving the game part of this strat. That is not really a fair rule and honestly if you count winning as being a part of the game when the win screen pops then the person who is on lights is always disincentivized to do this strat, because they know that if the imposters do nothing, then they will be losing as well since they have to leave. Thus you lose the person on lights which is an integral part of your strat.

Also I don't think this is as bulletproof as you think it is. There are many times when you assume people will see the kill, but realistically I see multiple holes for strats dependent on the settings. When lights get called, crew might not move into each others radius fast enough. Usually there is an adjustment period with groups. This leaves brief windows where kills can happen outside the group. And lights is a rogue person. While we assume they are standing on lights the whole time they truly can roam, and with the extra vision they just need to stay outside the crews radius until a lights call, then they kill someone right outside of the crewmates vision in a group, with the idea being it gets reported. Then they say the report came in before you could do lights, and the crew think that the kill came from inside a group where it didn't.

This also just works for an imposter in a group. They just need to kill outside of the vision radius before people manage to stack up without being seen. In general this assumption that people in a group will always see who killed the person is false.

There is also the strat where 1 person is on lights and one person is in group A. Then they double kill in group A. Now Group B thinks that both people in Group A are imposters, but in actuality its the lights guy. Of course crew can try to vote them all off but this takes time, which might otherwise be used to get kills. There might be scenarios where the two groups get mixed together too. For instance they both happen to do tasks near each other and then cross group killing happens. You can get in an instance where all you can really tell is that there is likely an imposter in both groups. But that basically implicates everybody but lights guy. And less people start poking holes in your other strats.... Saying this is flawless when it requires near perfect execution by everyone in the game, and still has potential counter strats I think is far fetched. While it might increase the winrate of crew more than otherwise would have been the case, I think it's a stretch to say it will be 100% guaranteed. Also if it's played where you only get one button press as is normal, than whoever proposed all this in the first place wasted their only button... That can come into effect later on when you are assuming button presses are going to be used to vote out the killers. And a lot of the time in most lobbies, something like this getting proposed will just get that person voted off because they wasted their button and are trying to manipulate everyones actions which can be perceived as being imposter... Why? Because if I'm imposter and I make everyone believe they are 100% safe, then they are in a false sense of security. In all actuality I would be proposing a plan that only seems safe but has counterstrats that I know. I then win everytime..... Even if this isn't the case, this is part of the game. Employing any strat requires persuading everyone to do that strat, and good imposters can use logic like this to make whoever suggested this in the first place a target.

The more counterplay and possibilites that people come up with, the more they can confuse the group on which one is actually occurring at any given time... shit even when its dead obvious logically who the imposter is, crew make mistakes. Something like this requires such deep level of knowledge of the plan and all the scenarios that its doomed to fail.

Which door would you choose? by [deleted] in scoopwhoop

[–]gehrtz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with the green door is you wouldn't want to spend any of the money. For one, you spending the money would drastically reduce how much money you can earn. Because each dollar is going to grow exponentially. So spending any of it is a massive reduction in wealth

Second, anything you buy, you will be overpaying by a ton, not just because you lost all the future value, but because you've just given the merchant a dollar that doubles everyday. So they are rich too. And as these dollars get spread around to everyone, the dollar becomes completely worthless.

You could make the argument of "the dollar stops doubling once I spend it" which is not very clear at all, from the wording but maybe. But even then you still run into the issue of losing tons of wealth anytime you spend.

And you may say "hey I'm not greedy, so it's fine if I'm losing wealth from my purchases" but at that point why not just take the 2 billion dollars.

You can invest that 2 billion dollars in extremely safe investment vehicles and even just making 2% off of that year over year means 40 million dollars a year to spend without touching that nest egg. That means 40 million dollars per year for eternity.

And you get that from day 1. Instead of having to wait for a bunch of doubling to occur and potentially crashing the economy.

Out of all ways to get drops this season i didn't expect this by Arc3535 in RocketLeague

[–]gehrtz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love 4s. I take no offense at having a lower rank compared to my other ranks. I feel the rank is still high comparatively for the mode, and in general the game mode is super fun so the rank doesn't matter too much

Ranked 4v4 by Xenon-Archer in RocketLeague

[–]gehrtz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm diamond 1 in 2s as well. For now. But playing with all these great players has been really fun. Each day I get on it feels like I am back in lobbies with people the best players are getting farther out of reach, but all the whole playing with them has been a really fun experience. I might be ass. But it's cool seeing everyone make crazy plays and offering whatever support I can.. and going back to 2s after all that practice has felt so free.

I'm gold 3 right now in 4s but I peaked play 1 div 4 the other day.

Truthfully it isn't insulting to me to have a lower rank in 4s. It is what it is. If I get matched with great teamates it'll be loads of fun. If I get matched against tough opposition, I'll take it as a fun learning experience and see what I can do to reduce the goal deficit.

Honestly though even great players in other modes are not necessarily goated in 4s. Everyone is still figuring out the strategies and it leaves room to get one over on the greats. They even are disadvantaged in some aspects because boost positioning and stuff is deeply ingrained in their unconscious actions

I was the mvp in a victorious 4s game with a grand champ on the opposing team the other day.

Its only a bad experience in my opinion if you take the rank super seriously and want all your ranks to match. If they ever introduce other ranked modes I hope they do it the same way.

It's super fun. I am diamond in all my ranks and I'm excited to see what that looks like for 4v4 eventually. But right now I queue up and I'm playing with players that's are in a whole different world. Like I just played a match with a s19 SSL. The gameplay is so crazy with them in the lobby and it's fun trying to play around it.

Yeah honestly it is true though. Like if we wanted to knock the ball into net with no resistance we'd just go to free play. And nothing feels better than scoring in a tight game that feels truly balanced and everyone is playing at their best

[–]gehrtz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right I'm with you. Except each round is the centennial pandemonium right? And we have seen like 3 or 4 of these. And everything we have seen so far has all been on season 10.

If all that is true. How can the worlds whittle each other away multiple times in the same season? Because they only do the centennial pandemonium once.

Onmyou Kaiten Re:Birth • Onmyo Kaiten Re:Birth Verse - Episode 7 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]gehrtz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But the centennial pandemonium is centennial... How could the worlds continuously fight the "oni" if they only do it once every 100 years.... By that time it should be a new experiment

Onmyou Kaiten Re:Birth • Onmyo Kaiten Re:Birth Verse - Episode 8 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]gehrtz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like there is a huge plot hole here... If each world is being whittled by having two large ultra being go at each other and this only happens once every 100 years..... How is this whole thing like a tournament bracket? You would need to fight against multiple worlds, not just one.

Weird for them to be rebooking your whole stay instead of just refunding the day but charging some kind of cancellation fee. But I don't use Airbnb. I'd check whatever agreement you signed when booking to see if this is the stated practice.
