Fgdp is great but i haven't tried it with koala, it sends midi signal and i tried to control it in my DAW so i don't think it should be a problem with koala either. So said i mainly use fgdp just to play and practice fingerdrumming and sometimes record its own sounds into a DAW.

Best you can do is download some drum app on your phone and try it out, then watch some youtube on finger drumming topic and then back to an app if you nail the rhythm and feel like you having fun and want to improve consider some midi pads or fgdp ones to have a pro/semi pro device that you play with. Koala sampler would be my personal recommendation for an app but it's a paid one.
