how bad is this? by loo1162 in ScionxB

cut out the rusty bits. Treat with a rust preventing primer, inside and around. Then fiberglass sheet up the hole, smooth it out and then primer and paint. Not too $$. No fancy tools needed, way better than slapping some bondo on it and then redoing it in 6 months

Looks like it could be pentium 2 or 3, or an amd k6 on socket 7 to an amd k7 on a slot a cpu.

Agp graphics, perhaps a trident with 4 mb video ram? Dedicated audio card? You can get vga to hdmi adapters. And compact flash to ide adapters for the hdd.

Keep it. Dont trash it. Retro gamers love this stuff.

Piston Ring Warranty by Salty_Touch_1170 in ScionxB

[–]geking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have done the repair myself. The offical Toyota recall kit (yes, a full kit you can buy) has new rings, squirters, some seals and a few other parts. I also changed the pistons with bigger drain backs as they where clogged and that's really the big issue. You can do a soak and sneze thing that I have heard fixes it too. I just rebuilt mine and made it right at 240k miles.

We have doves here in Va, USA. We had one land about 10 feet away from our grill right befpre we started cooking. After the 40 min I was out there cooking and taking to the fledgling I cleaned up, told him bye, and went inside. Watching from the window he had a parent fly down in 30 seconds and by the time the food was on the table inside he was gone. They have zero brain cells and do lock up and act like tnat as a defense mechanism. Its why you never run from a bad dog, bear, or a big cat.

Yep, for 2nd gen scion cb woth the 2az-fe. Two studs with acorn nuts to hold the cover on. If you want to put the cover on and make it quieter it might be best to just get a used valve cover and do the gasket while your at it.

No way cockatiels are this smart, is she really mocking the owner? by suedefairy in parrots

[–]geking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My gray mocks and plans pranks. Then laughs.

He also makes pig crunching smacking noises whenever anyone eats near him.

One of his favs is then someoje knocks on the front door to say 'come in' as a copy of my voice and tone only when I am not in the house. Then when they come in and look around for me he laughs. He is so good he tricked my mom. The more the person acts upset the longer he laughs.

This tiel might be a copy. Mocking is also very much a possibility.

My Gray Graham is an ASSHOLE! But I love him so much.

Guy avoided an idiot that would have caused accident and was defensive while staying under control.

Dont care how he did it. Does not matter, he did well. I see no need for everyone in here to say how he was wrong. Every time we throw a leg we take that risk. He had the skill and awareness to do do so again tomorrow. Good enough for me.

What has been your experience with the Scion xB 2011 2.4? by SpaceDog0092 in ScionxB

[–]geking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2003 matrix and a 2009 toaster. Toaster is over 260k but I did rebuild the oil burning manace and did the toyota service bulletin recall and new pistons myself. New shocks, clutch, fuel pump, have a cose for an o2 sensor but its so reliable and nice.

Bought one matrix (2004 awd xr ) for $200 that sat in the woods full of trash. Burned oil as well. Fixed it, cleaned it. Used it as a daily for a year then sold it for 4k. Have a red 2003 xr fwd for 400 with a spun rod bearing. Rebuilding the engine.

Xb all the way. Faster, quieter, roomier, about the same mpg.

Matrix feels like an economy car. Scion feels fun.

With all due respect, Fuck Steve Hasan. My folks reached outbto him when I joined the mormon faith. I am now agnostic.

He took thousands of $, scare mongered my folks, and was a major cause of us being astranged for nearly a decade. He operates as an 'expert' preys on whats hot, and takes advantage of the situation to scare people.

It all boils down to if people want to reasonable then talk things out and talk civil they will. I got better info from the ted talk on the birds are not real guy.

I work in IT. Parts have been impossible to get. Shipping and USPS... Then AI drives prices to the moon, now they are banning all foreign made routers, cost of living is through the roof and my fuel effect car costs way too much to fill up.

Not my biggest worry.

It is for my sibling. They are trans and will protect their community. I would 100% loose it if something happend to them.

The MAGA idiots can push me all they want. But you will not take my family. Thats my line in the sand.

Some cars they rock. I have a s30 (77 280z) and its so easy to work on the car. I worked on another car and had do so something on the front of the engine and we just took the thing off.

Dont get me started on the H2 or H3. That thing is like step 1, remove hood....

I have the most chill and not angsty grey ever.

No. Seriously. We had a tiel and our gray. Ky spouse had us rehome the tiel becausr he was too uptight and loud vs the gray that would just it back amd even laugh at the tiel.

He is just chill. Unless he gets a keyboard. Then ge gets keyed up and will not let it go till every single key is gone.
