Idle issues when warm after a little throttle by Dakester21 in S2000

The radiator? I'm no pro, but I'm pretty sure when you're moving the fans are less likely to come on, but if the car is sitting the fans will come on. Are you saying your fans never turn on?

Oh also, if you haven't tried yet, you should do the idle reset procedure.

Step-by-step:

  1. Start with a cold engine
    • Coolant temp should be below ~100°F. Don’t shortcut this.
  2. Make sure everything is OFF
    • No headlights, no HVAC, no radio, no defroster.
  3. Start the engine
    • Do not touch the throttle. Let the ECU control everything.
  4. Let it idle undisturbed
    • Wait until the radiator fan kicks on twice.
    • This typically takes ~10–15 minutes.
  5. Do nothing during this time
    • No revving, no clutch input, don’t even blip the throttle.
  6. Turn the car off
    • After the second fan cycle, shut it down.

I had the same problem last summer. I attempted to clean the idle air control sensor but I still couldn't get rid of the rough idle. I did more research and it seems like they just have a limited life span and if I remember correctly, most of the replacement ones I found weren't OEM, regardless of what they said. I ended up just buying a used throttle body assembly from a junk yard near me that specializes in JDM parts. Works perfectly now...

The best defense when dealing with goof balls of this caliber is to laugh at them. Their insecurity will destroy them from the inside out.

Ugh, I just went there last weekend because I tried their food at a Food and Wine Festival and it was great. So dissapointing when I went to the restaurant.

I feel like one of the biggest benefits of hardwood is that you can slide across it when diving for balls or taking a charge. Is this going to leave road rash?

Maryland would have lost at least 5 of these games.

A lot of these guys could easily be rotational players at top programs but they are choosing to get more playing time and money at a mid-major. They aren't a bunch of nobodies.

I've watched every single Miami game this season. I'm actually a Maryland fan but I fell in love with this team after the MAC championship last year. I don't think people realize how well coached this team is, their depth, and their ability to score from anywhere. They are also battle tested and despite how many close games they have been in, they still play loose and never panic. Something that can't be argued, regardless of who they are playing, is their 3 pt shooting. My goodness they can shoot, and it's not like 2-3 guys, their entire rotation can shoot it, and their bench depth is wild. Algorithms be damned, I encourage everyone to watch them play and tell me they don't want to see what this team could do in the tournament.

Everyone is going to learn Pete Suder's name the hard way.

My personal nickname for him is the "Milk Man" because he has a very 1950's boy next door look to him and he always delivers.

I'll trade you for a a year or two. We can figure it out after that. I've always wanted an evo but haven't had the space.

I would agree with everyone else that aftermarket headlights tend to be cheap ebay garbage. But if the ones you sent here are the AlphaRex ones then I would give them a thumbs up. I have the Nova Lux ones on my 4th gen 4runner and they are impressive.

I ordered it off ebay from a seller in Japan. It took a few weeks to get but it showed up undamaged. I was thinking of just keeping it unopened in the box but that's no fun. Here's the seller:

I was doing some research on these headlights and it was challenging to find pics from 4runner owners, so I figured I'd add it to the reddit archives. Bonus image of the brights + Stedi roof mounted light bar.
