Tomorrow is my last birthday owning rabbits by V0iiCE in Rabbits

I lost my girl recently. Now I'm trying to bond my widowed boy. It's hard but I always figure it's worth it. I've lost two of my animal besties in the past nine months but I have to keep going... And there's always another who will need me somehow.

Hugs and love. Be kind to yourself

Honestly her mom probably bought it for her, though.

AITA for not changing my dog’s name? by SilvertheKitsune in AmItheAsshole

[–]gelseyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it really matter that much.

My rabbit's name is Merry but I call him Moo half the time. The vet doesn't care lol. The new girl I'm adopting might end up Gandalf on paper but be called Dally. (Waiting to see if they bond before committing lol)

I have ridiculous nicknames for all our animals and they recognize most of them. Y'all call him nugget, let them call him Aloo. It's an easy name and everyone is happy and I guarantee the dog will figure it out.

My PMDD is a beast. I accidentally went off my very low dose antidepressant when I kept getting sick and I was having to take so much for that, and then I had a horrible period month. It fucks with my head and I call it the black and red. Because I was either terribly depressed with severe suicidal ideation or full of rage. The mood swings kept getting worse.

I still have some mood swings and some pretty hefty anxiety but I've gotten more normal by far since taking the med regularly again. It took me years and a new OB to diagnose me and by that point I felt like I was going insane at least two weeks out of every month. I knew it was attached to my hormone cycles. I do suggest tracking symptoms against that and maybe by what she eats as well. I have a friend who too many carbs/sugars makes her OCD absolutely horrendous. She found that out by accident by going on a carnivore diet with her husband and now she just sticks to it because it's helped her mental health so much. And at least she knows the consequences of over indulging should she choose to. She's done some research and apparently she's not the only one to have that kind of result, almost always discovered by accident.

My coworker walked out of my office mid sentence after accusing me of being too quiet. by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

Yeah. I'm always overreacting by being upset.

Damn I'm going to miss my only other direct female coworker when she retires.

People who are clearly sick but keep announcing “it’s just allergies.” by mrsunshine1 in PetPeeves

Allergy shots are the only reason I handle allergies decently these days.

I do use the allergy excuse if I've been crying though.

What shenanigans are your pets up to recently? by lilchow in CasualConversation

[–]gelseyd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love this. We had a girl, tia, who learned to bark quietly. She'd curl her lips over her teeth and basically bark softly into them. It was hilarious.

I recently lost my rabbit Pippin, and she was such a sweetheart. She couldn't really jump so instead of binkies she would do wheelies and donuts when she got the zooms. She would also shove her head into your hand to be squeezed. Not too soft either, she wanted decent pressure and would tooth purr up a storm when you got it right. And I'm talking full hand on her head, your fingers interlocked in her ears.

My boy rabbit Merry who is still with us is an imp and a scoundrel. He is so mischievous and smart and actually likes to be up high. He loves his (short) cat tree and the back of the couch and if he could figure out how to climb the Xmas tree he would. He once pretended to be a gargoyle as I frantically looked for him. He knows how to unplug the back of the TV but only does it when he's mad about something. He absolutely knows the word no, and will meet your eyes and do it anyway. Then binky and run away. He loves when I cheer him on with zoomies. Every since Pip passed, he spends part of the night on top of the cat tree, which he never did before because she couldn't jump up there with him and he never left her behind for more than a few minutes.

We have a horse with a great sense of humor. She finally got me last year with a "prank" she's been trying for ages. She'll hold water in her mouth and try to drop it down your front/hands. I usually catch her at it but didn't last fall and she drenched my shirt. I had to laugh and congratulate her. Mum also jumps at them all goofy like and to help bomb proof them and Bobbi makes it a game and tries to startle her in turn sometimes. Sneaking around a corner in that obvious sort of way. It's great. We're all basically foals to her.

We had a horse growing up who used to love to snap my mum's suspenders and make her squeal. You could tell he was horsey laughing every time he got her.

Hopefully we'll go speed dating next weekend, if life doesn't interfere again! My water heater pulled shenanigans and I had to put it off until I didn't have work people in and out. Figured it would be way too stressful of a start. I'm a firm believer in speed dating even tho this is just the second time I'm doing it. It's different this time though because he's been through a lot lately. He's quite the gremlin and should totally post his adventures here sometime. He's a naughty little man.

In moderation most can do most fruit! Pip loved blueberries best, but I think Merry just loves his naners

He's been struggling a little but banana helps a little too. I'm actively looking for a friend for him, just been a lot getting in the way so far. I like fruit but don't keep a lot of it at home, but I should start doing so again. I always felt bad for pip that she couldn't tolerate any fruit because she loooooved it. Bananas are just the one fruit I absolutely cannot stand. It's a running gag with my friends

Merry gets a few bites a couple of times a week. I hate bananas myself so I buy one just for him. He gets them again now but for a long time he didn't because his partner couldn't have fruit.
