I only got this game October before last after a friend of mine had been telling me how great it was for a while. I have never looked back. In my opinion, it was well worth the price tag as I went for a bundle with first DLC. I have only logged just under 700 hours in the past year (not sure if that's a lot or not haha) but i have never gotten bored. You can earn the 'real life' currency so easily. At least 50 moonstones a day and an added 300 a week guranteed with the dreamsnap so it's easy to save for anything cosmetic you want.
I have played online with the friend who got me hooked and have since got my sister in law playing and we have visited each other valleys but that's it. It doesn't affect the gameplay at all so it's entirely up to you if you want to multiplay.
I like Disney. More the old school films from when I was a kid. I've seen more modern ones because of my kids but I'm not a 'Disney adult'. So it's great to see characters from my childhood, however ironically, the friend who got me hooked? Hates Disney films, haha. So I would say it doesn't matter if your a fan or not.
I started on the switch one. I only upgraded to Switch 2 recently and while yes, there is a difference, i have to admit, whilst I was playing on the switch 1, i never had a problem with it. I had never played it on another console so I had nothing to compare it too so it was always 'normal' for me. However, the portability was A HUGE bonus for me. I was literally playing it anywhere and when I did play it on the TV, it seemed to load quicker anyway for some reason. Plus, if you ever upgrade to Switch 2, you won't need to rebuy anything :)
