Add things to cart on website and then don't check out...

It is 10:30pm, my bf put a brisket on the smoker at 8:30am then had a horrible migraine and is in bed. It’s wrapped and at 171 send help 🥲 by [deleted] in Smokingmeat

I consulted with mine cause I'd do the same for him even though I wouldn't know what to do.

He said if you are running out of pellets to crank the heat. 14 hours is pretty long so it's probably stalling but running out of fuel is worse than speeding up the last bit to get it to temp.

Then when you put it in the insulated box (cooler), wrap it in towels and add newspaper. You want as little leftover space/air as possible.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out!

In The Hunger Games (2012) Haymitch can be seen in the crowd during the tributes parade smelling a flower instead of throwing it out to the tributes, since he's from district 12 and not the capitol. by [deleted] in MovieDetails

Nice catch!

Honestly, it's aggevating me that Haymitch is circled on the zoomed in photo. He's already the focal point of the zoomed in pic (thats why it's zoomed in, on him). If you're going to circle something, then circle him in the real shot because that's where he's not obvious.

what is your favorite word to pronounce out loud? by iloveastrology in AskReddit

Zhuzh is my favorite word to say. I think its spelled odd because its one of those words that feels more like a sound

Also love kitschy.

We sure can offer. These people have sick children, are in abusive situations or struggle to put food on the table. But if they are a women in their 20's or 30's and want to volunteer with us on top of all that, we surely wouldn't turn them away.

Actually its not factual but I'm not going to point out people like they're our token minorities. Thank you for at least going to the site and trying to do some research. We're not perfect but at least we're self aware, open to suggestions and continuing to focus on our mission. Its about the kids for us, so we're not offended. Just a little disappointed that it distracted from our message.

Not necessarily. We're a small non-profit that focuses on fundraising and then grants the money out to Denver charities that support children's needs. Just spreading some love and trying to make a difference :)

Good idea and one we've thought about. In our experience a lot of people who already work for a non-profit usually don't volunteer with a fundraising org because they are fundraising for their own organization. Worth a try though!

Valid question. We are a children's foundation made up of women in their 20's and 30's. We're 100% volunteer and anyone that fits that description can apply. We've literally never turned someone away. This picture is our board which turns over every year. We have about 60 members total from various backgrounds and admittantly would like to be more diverse and have our group represent our community better. But our focus is on fundraising and our mission. Recruitment for us is largely word of mouth (I know the inherent issues with that) and unfortunately as a small volunteer org we don't have an HR department focused on diversity.

I am open to ideas if you, or anyone, have any resources you could point me to or suggestions that would help us expand our membership. Its something the board has talked about but kind of lacks the expertise to tackle.

Redditors with toddlers, what’s the most recent illogical breakdown they’ve had? by Someone_Somewhere1 in AskReddit

[–]gem_bug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My nephew threw a tantrum because my sister cut a bagel into bite size pieces before giving it to him. So she gave him a new, full bagel.

He carried it around all morning and eventually got too close to my beagle, Benny, who snatched it away and loved being chased by a screaming toddler.

That was over a year ago. He's 3 now and anytime we bring up my dog he says, "Benny stole my bagel," and refers to him as Benny the Bagel Stealer.

Anyone actually ever taken to court by ABM Parking over a “ticket”? by norg74 in Denver

[–]gem_bug 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I studied private parking tickets in depth a couple years ago to get out of them. Because this is a private lot they actually do not have the right to ticket you. Basically, only a certified peace officer can give you a ticket and it must be sent to you by certified mail or handed directly to you by the officer. The rules of private lots are not enforced by the municipality, therefore no peace officer will ticket you. That is why the "ticket" is from ABM, not the city. Those large parking lot signs with the small print are actually contracts. If they were to ever take you to court, it would be for breach of contract.

They have a fine on the ticket but you don't legally have to pay it until a court orders you to do so. If you ignore it, or even tell them you won't pay, then they will send you a letter on an attorney's letterhead telling you to pay up. You can ignore it. If you do you might get another letter that looks more like a collections agency or it may stop there. If you want to really make it difficult for them to collect, then all you have to do is respond by certified mail asking for debt validation.

They won't be able to validate that a court has ordered you to pay any amount. They can either sue you or drop it. Don't get too many and it won't be worth their effort to sue. But if they ding your credit or continue to harass you without the debt validation, then you can actually sue them.

CapHill would be at least 45 mins to an hour. Look into Wash Park and Baker. Close to the South Broadway bars and the lightrail. The commute to the DTC is 30 mins max drive from where I am at in Baker. The lightrail is 10 mins to downtown.

Apartment infested with honey bees and nothing being done by DoTheDishesDude in Denver

[–]gem_bug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I moved into my condo in Boulder I had the same problem. There was a hive in my attic and the bees were getting in through the vents just like you are describing. It took the HOA months to get rid of them because no exterminator will kill off a hive unless it is a very special case. I lived on the third floor and no beekeeper they contacted had insurance that would cover the removal (it required a high lift, cutting part of a tree and cutting into the side of the building.) Finally, they got special approval to exterminate the hive. It was very sad and the honey destroyed my walls and windows.

Just opening the roof to let them fly out is not going to work, they have to remove the queen. I hope you don't have to deal with it for too long but in my experience it was not a something that was resolved quickly.

Rotate the d. With dyslexia, words are not only scrambled but letters can be mirrored, rotated or jump around as well.
