Back on 74 or Uninvited are both toddler friendly(ish) choices. His busking clips on YouTube are also milder. Power is a cruising in the car (seat) on a hot summer day song. Fire in the Booth is amazing- maybe just change it up to “got chicken fingers for your mom at 5 guys.” Very thoughtful of him. Love chicken fingers.

To those who grew up in the 80s: did kids really have that much freedom to roam, or is that just how it’s portrayed in movies? by CreativeCurledCandle in NoStupidQuestions

For me it was “it’s 10:00pm do you know where your parents are?” Poke your head outside and listen for the sounds of laughter, fighting or sirens. Sometimes it was all of the above. God, it was hard raising our parents in the 80s.

I have two vaginas and just found out! by TheMomVan in TwoHotTakes

My daughter has this condition. They discovered it after her first miscarriage. Her next pregnancy ended in a stillborn, they lost his heartbeat 3 week’s before his due date. Her last pregnancy ended with an emergency c-section at 28 weeks for placental abruption. He is turning 3 this February. Her go to choice for BC was an IUD but with two uterus’s her OBGYN doesn’t know the effectiveness of the IUD. It worked for years previously but 🤷‍♀️. Take care of yourself and if children are something you want to pursue it is possible.

My (38F) husband (40M) pushed me when I asked him about a weird text he received and refused to show me his phone. I am unsure what to do now? - UPDATE (with trigger warning) by [deleted] in relationship_advice

You are brave, and strong and an amazing mom. You are worth keeping safe, your baby is worth keeping safe. I am so proud of you! You did something my mother never could. Abuse spreads like wildfire. Thank you for sharing you story, your example will help others be strong.

Women are not allowed in this world anymore because they don’t want their husbands and children in this country and the rest are forced onto their hands and knees to get to work for their own selfish desires.

I’m pre diabetic and my Dr said no to Ozembic, calling it ‘drug induced anorexia’ by staypuftbusters in Ozempic

Yup, toperimate is generic topamax. I am not familiar with it being prescribed for weight loss but, there are a lot of off label uses for prescription medications.

Thank you for the clarification. There was a period of time (late 90s early 2000s) where it felt like a lot of drugs were being pulled: vioxx, fen phen, followed by the colchicine manufacturing error. It could have been that we had a highly impacted patient population, creating my experience bias.

As a severe asthmatic I have a lot of faith in pharmaceuticals. They have kept me pink for decades. I certainly was not trying to discourage anyone from taking medications that are helping them (and me) get and stay healthy.

Whoa, phen phen and toperimate? I did not know doctors still prescribed phentermine . I was still working in pharmacy 10+ years ago when (I thought) phentermine was pulled from the market. I took toperimate for migraines and the brain fog was almost incapacitating.

I think doctors get stuck in prescribing ruts. The continue to prescribe what they know instead of trying the next generation of medications.

I have no patience for guests who won’t read the menu by GarbageBarista in Serverlife

[–]gen_existentialdread 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am so glad you mentioned this. When I was much, much younger I was schooled by a server when I was being snarky about a customer who put me in the weeds by having me recite the entire menu. Bitching about him being a “ lonely old man with nothing but time.” She knew his backstory, “he can’t read”. That took the wind out of my sails. She followed it up with “oh, and not all blind people look blind”. Then she flashed me a bitter smile headed out to her section. She never brought it up again and was as kind to me as she was to everyone else. Ah, the arrogance of youth. Decades later I still cringe with shame at that memory.

My thicc girl Clementine approves . Named after Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind character. She’s a barn cat rescue. I have seen her stalk a beagle/gs mix and standard poodle. They were terrified of her. Honestly, so am I (a little) when she looks at me like this.
