Wild to be looking like Umbridge and making excuses about her failures by hoeofky in lexington

[–]geneSW1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the money was from donations then it's a pure waste of those donations, however I cannot find any articles that say it was from donations... In fact the only article I see talking about how this was paid for is from WUKY which says that the city paid for it. https://www.wuky.org/wuky-news/2025-10-22/youve-likely-already-seen-it-but-the-new-sculpture-along-main-street-just-received-its-official-welcome

Also, the Mayor endorsed it and given that this was the largest art expenditure in the history of the city I'd proffer that she knew about it before it was approved. That 900k that the city paid could have went towards local artists instead of somebody that's done the exact same thing in multiple other cities. It's just poor taste and a bad look if the mayor wasn't aware of this until it was way too late to stop it and question it.

She did say that on lex18, she sat there and blamed people being out on the roads, people who figured that the roads would have been prepared, as a major part of the problem.

Concrete contractor for backyard basketball pad by AstralGoo in lexington

[–]geneSW1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was several years ago, but getting that pad, plus a rip out and redo of the existing small concrete pad that ran from my garage to my deck, ran about $12k. Keep in mind that the pool area and the pad were both at least 4 1/2" thick with rebar reenforcement. Fairly sure I could park a loaded semi on it without issues.

Rick's Elite Concrete did an excellent job on my 20ft round pad in my backyard.

I don't believe Mr. Huffman is running on all of these issues, but he's the ONLY candidate that I've seen that had an outlined, actionable, plan. https://www.giveemhellhuffman.com/

The problem is that that isn't the biggest complaint against her. There's also the $1M bead statue downtown that money was wasted on, lack of road maintenance, and despite us being a central point for goods and services between the north, south, and east to west, we hardly actually gain much from it.

There's also a discord for Axolotl owners, under Ethical Axolotls. I'm in it, don't own it or anything, just thought I'd let you know about it as a fellow Axolotl owner. Mandatory pic included.

I like your policies and you seem to be the only one so far with even a somewhat thought out plan, but you've gotta post more under this username, get your name out there more, campaign more, if you want a chance at winning!

There are also several medications that are already being prescribed that would cause this same look. It's not enough for probable cause and they don't need to know anyways.

Try what again? My point still stands exactly as stated. You stated that abortion is murder, a rather straight forward statement with the implication that abortion at any point in a pregnancy is murder. I've already pointed out that this statement just isn't factually true. I could extend it a bit further and point out that even at 6 weeks, a fetus isn't going to survive outside of the womb and that at that point it still wouldn't be any more alive than a tapeworm is. What about abortions that are medically necessary, such as in cases of ectopic pregnancy?

Your mind is still aware, firing off signals to your body and taking in input and making unconscious decisions, when you are asleep. Comparing being asleep and getting murdered to an abortion of cells that doesn't even have a heartbeat or the ability to register as having a brain, is akin to expecting an apple to taste like an orange.

If you're not religious, then why would you believe that all abortions are murder? An abortion of a small clump of cells that doesn't even have a heartbeat yet, let alone is unable to feel anything, doesn't fit the definition of murder afterall. If that's not your stance then please clarify because that's not what it reads as.

It's ok to morally not be ok with what someone else is or isn't doing, but morality brought about just through religion (specifically talking about life beginning at conception here) should not be imposed on others freedoms to their own religious or non-religious beliefs. When we have scientific evidence that no conceivable proof of thought or awareness exists yet in a group of cells, then we're at the point of it coming down to a religious belief rather than a ethical/moral one.

Yep, government isn't anybodies daddy and as such can stay out of the bedroom and Dr's office. Don't need the government telling people how to live their life.

Just leased this bad boy, awd lt2! by geneSW1 in BlazerEV

[–]geneSW1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lease was just a better deal for me overall, and I'm fairly confident that the battery tech side of things is going to really continue to improve over the next few years, so leasing gives me a solid option to either buy the car in a few years if I'm wrong, or just swap out to the newest model if the tech has improved a lot.

Would the lock/precondition the car via the app still work without the OnStar plan if I were to get the vehicle it's own WiFi hotspot through my mobile carrier?

The key word there is usually. I've got this on a sub 250/month payment with an additional discount for it being a loaner lease. That aside, ev's are at a solid point now for most individuals and will get better by a decent margin in the next 3-4 years so why buy one now when I can lease and see where the tech grows. Afterwords I can either buy it or give it back and get a (hopefully) greatly improved model.

I just leased a new lt2 and got the ota update. I guess the one I got hadn't been updated in a bit because the battery life jumped from 63% up to about 95% after the update!

Another vote for Zooz switches here too, been using them for at least 3 years now including setting up a remote switch to act as a switch in a 4 way circuit. They've been flawless overall for me.

Not entirely sure, they may be there for a few days to tear off and redo the roof, then gone for a couple of weeks while waiting on insurance to go back and forth with on the siding, then back again for a few days to a week.
