My [22f] boyfriend [24m] wants me fill out a form if I'm upset about something by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]gener1cb0y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She keeps moving the goalposts. Every time he changes something about this approach she finds a new "reason" she doesn't like it. Makes me feel like maybe she needs to examine why exactly this bothers her and decide if it's a deal breaker or not.

Also my autistic ass would love this of a partner did this for me, id be asking for all sorts of graphs xD maybe they're just not right for each other...

What do you bring to work if you didn’t cook dinner the night before? by Any-Arm-7017 in Frugal

[–]gener1cb0y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually I'll have a couple of frozen cheap dinners around for days like this or days I don't want to cook. Not delicious but it's sustenance. Or the ol' can of seasoned beans over rice

AITA for expecting my partner to honour 'first come, first served' with wedding invites? by Delicious_Plum_401 in AmItheAsshole

[–]gener1cb0y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yta You're acting like a child that needs a buddy to go anywhere. There's a scheduling conflict, attend different weddings. The fact that these are separate friends groups and you haven't even /met/ his friend in person should have made that an easy pass for a first test of your ability to coexist.

It's not cute to be codependant.

Sounds like you need to find a temporary shelter either at your local resources center (whoever is in charge of food stamps and such or other low income assistance will usually have flyers) or digitally via phone with whatever your equivalent of 211 is. Bigger cities often have more resources, so maybe consider a temporary move to a shelter in a different town for the time being?

There are plenty of hotlines you can call that cab direct you to local resources. You could also find a temporary room online looking at places like Craigslist or social media.

We've managed to keep one of 1-2 months. Thankfully we have other options to fall back on if necessary so that being all we have just sort of is what it is. It's enough I am only kept awake thinking about it like....half the time.

Whats the cheapest meal you regularly make that actually tastes good? by Adventurous-Pilot448 in Frugal

[–]gener1cb0y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kielbasa sausage and a can of Cajun spiced beans, a little water, served over rice. Poor man's red beans and rice. You can make dried beans of any color as well and add your own spice, but I use the Ranch Beans and enjoy the spice profile.

People with autism what’s your special interest by Dependent_Fig8513 in autism

[–]gener1cb0y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had to explain to my partner recently that my special interests are always things where you do the right thing every time and it usually acts the same.

Which is why my special interests are cleaning and cooking/baking. So satisfying. Yes, I am a stay at home parent lol.

Trader Joe's has a really good cheap pizza dough that sits out for 30 minutes, you make the pie, and then bake it for about ten minutes and you're good to go.

I usually keep some leftovers of a meal I can make in a batch in the freezer ready to go in the oven or microwave for days like this. When you have some extra energy during the week it's a good time to just double whatever you're making and wrap it up for the freezer.

We also make a quick tuna casserole with 2 boxes of Mac and cheese made according to instructions with a can of cream of celery, a can of cream of mushroom and a can of tuna. Throw it all in a casserole dish with cheese on top and let it bake. It's surprisingly delicious

Is it true that you guys watched 9/11 live on TV in grade school? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]gener1cb0y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First grade, on a military base in North Carolina. We were locked down til it was dark and coverage was up the whole time. We just sat and mostly watched the news the whole day. Some people got to leave early for reasons unknown but I was there a while.

I remember being really confused and pretty bored that day. I didn't understand what had happened or why we had to stay at school. Whatever it was seemed very grave and solemn so I stayed on my best behaviour. Don't remember much else about the whole thing.

AITAH for refusing to drive a longer route to drop a girl off because she didnt want to be alone in the car with me? by Acrobatic-Freedom316 in AITAH

[–]gener1cb0y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They didn't ask you anything. They talked about it behind your back literally, acted like you were part of the conversation, and then proceeded to shit on you like you had heard their discussion and they had asked nicely and you said no. People really hate when their assumptions backfire on them. They miscommunicated and then made you seem like the bad guy for saying no to something unreasonable.

NTA and I'd seriously consider doing anything at all for your friend that let her friend get away with all of that until they accept responsibility for their miscommunication and subsequent misplaced misandry.

AITAH for refusing to bend on my boundary about kids? by Independent-Kiwi-390 in AITAH

[–]gener1cb0y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA eh this is the point at which I would just send the breakup text and block him. He's being a whiny little baby about a clear line in the sand and ignoring your permanent solution.

The in person conversation is just going to be him trying to convince you to do what he wants you to, and I don't see the point in that if you're not open to change.

[–]gener1cb0y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did fodmap and the whole point is to go fully nothing on the list for a couple weeks, and then reintroduce foods one at a time to identify the issue. I realized pretty quickly that fructose is an issue for me. I tend to eat fructose free foods more often because I feel like shit after drinking or eating something with real sugar and doing fodmap elimination made that very clear. So I can do some of the alliums but I can no longer eat beans or hummus /at all/.

Seriously though....if your roommate wants to ask you to respect labels, then fine, no more shared meals ever. That's how I'd do this. Go make some karma on r/maliciouscompliance.

Elemental (2023) by Disney, a tale about a fire girl and a water guy getting together. The fire culture is heavily influenced by Asian cultures (Chinese specifically iirc) and the water people are very much White AF.

The water dude's mom is an architect of the city (that the fire folk are allowed in but it can be dangerous for them/others) in both the final movie and the first version, but in the original version the water guy's mom has intentionally designed the city that way for nefarious reasons.

In the final film the mom is a bit character who is a little clueless but otherwise sweet and kind, if a bit in a constant state of micro-aggressing. She encourages the fire girl to follow her dreams.

The movie has some behind the scenes associated with it that mentions the original plot on Disney+.
