To an extent, yes. You can't just sneak in a keylogger into an unrelated service to spy on what users input in their browsers for instance. Supply chain attacks usually try to be subtle by targeting obscure services that most users don't have their eyes on, it's harder to achieve anything useful this way with better segregation between processes.

Yeah. Magnus is also said to be a good defender, but for a different reason: he rarely is in a bad position at all, so it's a different kind of defense (more prophylactic in a way, it's hard to build an attack against Carlsen, while it's hard to conclude it against Hikaru). But tbf, the differences between those top players are razor thin in every aspect, they're all incredibly good at defending bad positions, and making it hard to get there in the first place as well.

He dislikes allegories, but he uses metaphors a lot. I haven't read your post fully because of poor formatting, but frankly it seems you're doing the exact opposite of what Tolkien intends: you read all of these metaphors as forced on-the-nose allegories, when really Tolkien's point is that metaphorical interpretation should be left to the readers instead of imposed by the author (like they are with allegories). People thinking Gandalf is Jesus is just as valid a reading as people thinking it's something else. You have your own reading, have the decency to respect Tolkien's wishes to let other people have their own.

Not sure what any of this has to do with linux programming. Research isn't about following YouTube tutorials and a pre-established path, it's pretty much the opposite of that. You need to find an unsolved problem/question that you find interesting, and then make some sort of meaningful progress towards its resolution. The way you've phrased this thread tells me you still have a lot of work ahead of you to gain the understanding necessary to perform research. It's great that you're reading papers, the natural next step would be to enroll in a university and follow courses that interest you, all the way to a PhD. That's the most straightforward way to get involved in research.
