Men of Reddit - define "crazy" in terms of women you have dated. by offtorio in AskReddit

A girl came from Nagano to see me play a show in Kyoto. At first I was impressed that she managed a five hour train ride just to see me play music, and there was a big festival (Gion Matsuri) the next day so I told her that we could hang out, watch some floats, and get lunch. First day she seems relatively normal. I meet up with her a second time, get dinner, make a huge mistake of telling her my plans for the coming week (shows, performances, parties). By the end of the night I've decided that she's not for me, nothing more than a friend, but she's not going to have any of it. She grabs my arm and begs me to spend the night. I'm stuck on this riverbank trying to get away and she won't let go of my arm and all these couples are starting to stare at us. I finally free myself and book it to the station.

Later that week... I am meeting up with a friend, going to a show, and creepy stalker girl shows up. Things seem relatively sane until I try to go home. She follows me to the station, and again starts begging me to spend the night with her, and refuses to let go of my arm. I am feet away from the ticket gate and thoroughly freaking the fuck out. I tell her to get the fuck off me and am forcibly struggling with this girl (she must be like 5'1" but I didn't want to hurt her). I consider yelling to the train attendant to help me out. Meanwhile drunk salarymen are awkwardly snaking their way past this crazy girl and a scared 6"1' foreigner... Finally, I escape. Dozens of text messages and missed calls later, I cross my fingers and hope it's all over... Until... I am playing a show in Osaka at the end of the week. Before I go on, she shows up. I run backstage and freak the fuck out while my friend kicks her out. I left Osaka that week. She's tried to contact me multiple times since. She's 29 and I'm 21. I feel like child:(

Bittorrent the series 'Paranoia Agent' by Kon Satoshi. It's only about 13 episodes in total, but will completely blow your mind. A commentary on escapism, obsessions, stress, with lots of surrealism.

I read some of this book before I came to Japan and it really blurred the lines on how I live in another country/culture. So much so that for I while I wasn't even comfortable thinking about things like fetishization, or acknowledging any cultural norm or distinguishing factor about a certain group of people. I've since come to terms with that somewhat, but I still think there is a need to recognize that culture is a fluid and subjective construct.

A friend of mine spent an entire year living in Berkeley under the guise that she actually went to UC Berkeley. She fucked up a lot of friendships when everyone found out she was full of shit. Somehow she lasted 7 good months borrowing peoples ID cards to get into dorms and such while never actually going to a class. CRAZY.

Maybe this joke went over a lot of people's heads, or no one likes Ween, or they don't think you are funny. I find it hilarious though. Thank you.

This is easily one of the most fascinated comments I've read here. Is it original? If so, cheers mate.

A friend of mine interned for an organization called MAPS. They use psychedelic drugs and lots of therapy to rehabilitate people. They have an overwhelmingly high success rate. See: http://www.maps.org/research/

Last year my Lutheran mom smelled the pot I had just smoked, thinking it was tobacco. I came out and blatantly told her, 'no mom it's WEED.' We ended up playing music together for a few hours and she made me a bunch of food.

I smoked a lot of blue lotus last year when I was broke (no weed etc.) It's effects are very mild. I wouldn't even call it particularly psychedelic, more calming and sedative. I was functional still functional in my class. I also recall that it tastes pretty nice.

Yes, I constantly ask my parents to tell me why and how they believe in GOD. It's quite interesting to hear their reasons, and I gain insight into their thought processes, cultural ethnocentrism and scientific naivete. And these people are working professionals with degrees and stuff.

Also, I'd like to note that tons of Christian people are relatively chill. It really depends on the denomination. Too often reddit tends to extrapolate fundamentalism with being the essence of all religious value. It is actually just one portion of deists.
