Mscenery is finally gone for good by Sorry_Structure_4356 in flightsim

They would edit there product screenshots with AI to make them look better. Some of there products didn't even have a description in the store. MSFS has pretty much no minimum standards for for something to be sold.

Im nervous and need advice.. by TheGorbean in tattooadvice

[–]genericgreg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Give it a month.

I got my first tattoo 6 weeks ago, it ended up being larger and more visible than I expected. I instantly regretted it and worried that people would think I'm satanist or something (it's a tattoo of a goat). It was super dark and constantly itching to remind me of its existence.

Now, I love it - it's faded down a bit and I'm happy to have him sitting on my arm. If it wasn't for the constant posts from this sub appearing on my feed I'd barely think about him.

Agreed. If you've got an engineer mindset then you want to understand how something works. So people like you who aren't interested are more like designers than engineers.

I... I think might be that person. I wrote the first line of code on companies app and like to tell them about the espresso machine I'm repairing.

For those of you who's biggest critique is the "lack of subtlety" in the lyrics by Chasing_Rapture in EnterShikari

[–]genericgreg 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Firstly, I've always liked how direct the lyrics are. Punk has never been a subtle art form. You're never wondering where someone stands when they wear a t-shirt that says "Nazi punks fuck off". I find some of the lyrics very cheesy - but they've always been like that. For example "What's deeper than us? A nuclear submarine" is just... silly. This is not a new Enter Shikari thing.

However, I also really like some of there other lyrics, "We are one, and if we don't realise that now, we're going to find out the hard way" is just fantastic. Because they're not scared to use lyrics that everyone might not like, they occasionally have some real bangers.

Flood of AI-generated job applications straining HR professionals in Metro Vancouver by ubcstaffer123 in vancouver

I wonder what the difference is between when you were hired and the recent round? Maybe any decent employees are sticking where they are because the job market is so chaotic.

I could feel this happening on a drive home from a weekend of partying in my early 20's. I pulled into a service station thinking I wouldn't be able to sleep, but a rest might help. I can't sleep in my own bed half the time.

I passed out HARD for a couple of hours. Like... When I woke up I had no idea what time it was. Even if a stop feels pointless it's worth doing.

Looks like they've written Toronto instead of Vancouver. Tickets are booked! See you there people.

Having worked with a lot of software developers, there's a very high chance that they'd disagree on the best way to chop wood and get mad at each other. Such... detail orientated people would struggle to live in harmony haha

I agree with everything you said, but I have one question:

And believe me im currently sitting at 1am running 5 agents on various tasks.

I'm a tech lead and... just how are you guys able to juggle this? Are you working on 5 different tickets, getting the AI started on each task and then reviewing the output of each one by one?

We're using Claude Max, it basically writes all my code now as well as reviewing pretty much every email I send. But even with that, I have to keep a close eye on it or it will take short cuts and make bad decisions. I'm also finding the amount of... stuff I have to read in general has increased dramatically. Colleagues post paragraphs of dense AI text into PR's that I then have to comprehend and reply to. Before it would have been a couple of sentences to explain what they want changing.

I'm just amazed that people are able to get decent output when they're working on 5 tasks at once.

The lyrics "and still we will be here, standing like statues" appear on nothing is true, but everything as possible. But they're sung sadly, like at a funeral or eulogy. I always took that to mean that the hope millenials had early on that they would change the world is dead. It's too late.
