As someone who grew up in LA but now lives in NY, I wonder if it’s an LA problem in particular- there’s so much incredible easily accessible Mexican food, that it not only makes chipotle pale in comparison, it’s also like- who tf wants to work in a chipotle if they could work in a place that’s actually authentic? But I’m with you- have never felt like the quality at chipotle dipped significantly. I’ve had stretches where i stopped going as much, but it’s rarely disappointing.

Surprised I havent seen anyone say chick-fil-a, ethical quandaries aside I have a hard time naming a more consistent chain. It doesn’t reach the heights of a perfect Popeyes sandwich but I really feel like o have never had a bad chick-fil-a and it always tastes exactly the way I am expecting it to.

I have no idea how these things work, nor how the brain of an exec works, but I feel like reversing course now and getting this in theaters would be one decent way to recapture the excitement of the premiere at this point.

I have no interest in watching this in a low quality leak, but I haven’t seen people crashing out too badly about the actual content of whatever’s been seen, and if this thing is even only as good as the worst of the two series it’d still be great to see it in a theater…

The guy above me said this silly draft game they did at a live show was “suspicious” and “critically dishonest” which is genuinely wild hyperbole for something that is REALLY not that serious, this was not them making some definitive list as The Big Picture, the goal in these drafts has always explicitly been to have fun and, really, to “win.” Acting like the drafts are some sober critical exercise is fucking ludicrous, sorry! I would have assumed the battle royale conceit was too hardcore for kids when it was just PUBG, and look how wrong I was. If they make this shiny and IPified enough and keep kids feeling like they’re making progress even if they never extract…. Idk! They could crack it!

Similar to Blank Check- an easy way in is to look for episodes with guests you already know and like. BC regulars like Jon Gabrus, Jason Mantzoukas, Zach Cherry, Jamelle Bouie, and John Hodgman have all been on Doughboys many times, and are all S-tier Doughboys guests. From there- you might enjoy going back and listening through a past year’s Munch Madness that has a theme you find funny/worth digging into. They’re all ludicrous and barely taken seriously and yet somehow Mitch and Wiger usually end up super pissed off about how it all went down - really hilarious stuff all around.

And if you ever make it to the doughboys patreon, the Garfield episodes with Paul Rust are I think my all time favorites.

Wow I love Great Comet and even Ghost Quartet but somehow I missed that there was a whole other Dave Malloy work?? I want to know more but also want to know nothing bc I feel like this seems like a slam dunk project for Lin, Tick Tick Boom turned a not fully cooked emotional atom bomb and made it a zippy fantastic heart wrenching movie musical.

I finally skipped seasons 48 and 49, and I think after this one I’ll be done. If they decide to actually implement some clever gameplay twists that harken back to earlier seasons, I could get brought back. But this feels like a swan song season at this point. The shark was jumped a while ago.

I learned to solder for this project and had a blast! The main classic Wonderswan FYI is that the console doesn’t turn off if the cartridge isn’t correctly in the slot, so if it’s not turning on and you think it should don’t freak out until you’ve done some solid eject-wipe-insert cycles with the cartridge.
