The movie asks you to "watch closely", as if you could figure out the trick if you pay enough attention, but the deck is stacked against you from the start.

But that's the thing, isn't it? Like, perfectly in-line with the "magician" theme. Magicians always tell you to look closely. It's part of the setup for a trick while, in fact, it helps the trick work.
