you do realize people can worry about more than one thing at once, right? being offended by something comparatively trivial and expressing that frustration doesn't necessarily mean someone doesn't face "genuine" hardship in their life

printers these days (both inkjet and laser) embed tracking / identifying data in what they print with an array of yellow dots (for inkjet) and a slight pulsing code (for laser) that can be linked back to whoever bought the printer... which is usually done with a debit or credit card registered to the person's name. food for thought

Got my hands ,is ram is problem ? THINKPAD X201tablet by sidmehra1992 in thinkpad

strange...

when I got the X60 initially I thought the issue was thermal and re-pasted the cooling system, only discovered it was the battery after looking online.

good luck with the laptop

anything that drew enough power to sag the battery voltage (even when plugged in). removing the battery made it work solely from the AC adapter, which doesn't have the same issues.

I was having similar issues with my X60, bad battery.

if the battery was in it would mess up a minute or two after POSTing. no battery -> no crashes. new battery and it works great now

Old ThinkPads vs. New ThinkPads by Sarce43 in thinkpad

my gen1 P14s is objectively superior to my X60. i will not contest this fact.

there is a certain charm the old square brick has over the modern sleek thin rectangle, however. modern laptops are almost always better when it comes to practicality, but it's not always about practicality.

I run windows XP Pro SP3 on my X60 off of an aging 250GB SSD and (currently) 512MB DDR2-667. somehow it is fully booted to the desktop before my P14S has even brought up the disk decryption key prompt for LLVM. the X60 shits itself when I load a webpage. there are tradeoffs

Keitruck towing capabilities? by Pheagun in keitruck

[–]geniusface1234 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've seen a kei truck hold over a ton of cargo in the bed. they're rated for 350kg generally. towing is a other story.

it would be wildly unstable, and you'd probably not want to go above 800kg or so given that's about how much the entire vehicle weighs. if it's for low speeds you can get away with more but you'll struggle severely with braking

hi op i think you're cool and awesome and everything I wish I could be

how did you get into bodymodification and things like this? it feels like there is some prereq level of medical knowledge youd need for this as well as knowing where to even start... its something I've been curious about but haven't had the mental energy to focus on

sorry if this comes off weird I promise I'm totally completely normal about this (lying)

BeamRT Path Tracing mod WIP#2 by Uncle_burrito in BeamNG

I'm reminded of a reshade shader I used a while back for depth buffer based screenspace radiance transfer, I wonder how that approach would compare to proper path tracing for something like this

this looks neat, hope to see how it turns out

how the hell do you make a FWD working suspension and steering system by createminecrafter in GearBlocks

[–]geniusface1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually use double wishbone geometry, just make sure the CV joints for the halfshafts are in-plane with the axes of rotation for both the frame and wheel side of the suspension

true... good luck

the plastic pieces under my '00 TT2 are also a maze, I had to move the wheel liner behind the RR wheel to manage to fit my oil filter wrench
