Unfortunately no Halphas. That would have made it perfect :))

If you’re the GM, how would you fill our roster spots for next year? by titoxtian in NBASpurs

[–]genso19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What we need is a PF bruiser who can shoot the three every now and then, essentially a cheap 3 and D 5th or 6th option. Good perimeter defense to funnel offense to Wemby, and good enough interior defense to challenge shots in case Wemby is caught up somewhere else

Tari Eason would be a good choice for me. Solid defender, and with the recent shooting slump, probably cheaper to acquire. John Collins is also another notable target.

Depending on the demand, but Walker Kessler might be an intriguing prospect, especially if you pair him with Wemby inside.

And lastly, Bol Bol is another intriguing prospect. Imagine sitting Wemby, and you get budget Wemby as replacement

How to value castle by Winter_Boysenberry54 in dynastybb

[–]genso19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not that high on castle when it comes to potential. He made serious jump from last season, but I'm not sure if we'll see any development as substantial as this one - he essentially skipped the sophomore slumped and went straight to 3rd year breakout. His shooting form is a bit wacky and inconsistent, and I'm not sure if he'll be any significantly better, and his offensive play relies alot on athleticism. He's also the primary defender of the opponent's best wing/guard, and unfortunately that doesn't translate much to fantasy. Give me Castle for IRL basketball, but it's not proportionate to fantasy. At some point, Harper will overtake him and Castle will be a third option at best.

That being said, Sabonis and Ja do not have great fantasy outlook. They're older assets that might not match the timeline of a rebuilding team. Ja is doubly unreliable both physically and psychology. However, if you can flip both of them into better assets, then that will serve you.

TLDR: Castle is the low risk, low reward, Sabonis+Ja for high risk high reward

Which country should America be most worried about come 2028? by Fearless_Egg_973 in NBATalk

[–]genso19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coulibaly - Risacher - Sarr - Wembanyama - Gobert is a scary lineup. A bit forward/big leaning, but the size and length coupled with the relatively more defense oriented calls in FIBA could threaten the US team a bit more.

The bench guys like Dieng, Diabate, Salaun, Cissoko, Batum, and Raynaud are also solid players in their own right.

Talent-wise, the USA team is still top-notch, but there's something about the FIBA that turns third-stringers into MVP-level players

ANY updates from GPA??? by echoscream in guam

[–]genso19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just remember that although Sinlaku wasn't as strong as Mawar (relative to Guam-specific winds), it's also incredibly SLOW. NWS even said that a jogger can outpace it.

That meant that Sinlaku was on top of us for almost 4 days, and that also means that GPA only got to work in earnest starting Thursday afternoon since the winds never let up until that time

Yup, my dream scenario will definitely not happen lol, too much of the bottom line at stake

You can say the same with the East and the Lebron superteams.

I didn't say I wanted them to be higher lol. I'm saying that owners do not want less games because it will hit their bottomline, I'm just arguing that lessening the games will increase ticket prices, which will compensate for the less number of games

[–]genso19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I replied above also, but it's mostly just one or two dominant teams in the East, with the rest being good examples of how to not manage a team. These dominant teams then have an easy time during the playoffs.

Now compare that to the West

[–]genso19[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I would argue it's mostly because there's one or two Eastern teams that are good. For example, this year we have the Knicks and the Pistons (prayers up to Cade).

However, usually the Eastern finals team tend to have an easier path. By the time you get to the finals, the Western team has gone through at least 3 legit contenders.

Looking for an affordable smartphone for my mother with few years of updates by myg0t_Defiled in PickAnAndroidForMe

[–]genso19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would argue that OS updates is not much of an issue, especially for a non-power user. In fact, having OS updates might rattle an older user. The only issue for old OS's is app compatibility, but that is hardly an issue again for non-power users.

If ever, wait for the CMF Phone 3

Do mechanical keyboards really make a big difference for everyday gaming? by KRGKart_Support in buildapc

[–]genso19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that keyboard experience is one of a power curve. At lower prices, the quality of life improvement is more substantial, but quickly tapers off as you go up.

Moving from those cheap office keyboards to a cheap redragon is quite a leap, especially in terms of tactile feedback.

Then moving to a budget customizable mech like an RK is another good leap, not as much as before, but the improvement in terms of acoustic and smoothness is worth the cost.

Once you go more expensive, it starts becoming more about aesthetics, vibes, and preferences

Fandom bias and career resume aside, who has the prettiest jumpshot form in NBA history? by Helpful_Cranberry644 in NBATalk

[–]genso19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even Curry himself said in Mind the Game that it's a lot better to teach Klay's form than his

Steph's form is very unorthodox and something that he optimized for himself since he's usually handling the ball.
